Help for Heartburn

United States

I am getting into my seventh month of pregnancy and I'm experiencing heartburn, no matter what I eat. It wouldn't be so bad, except that every morning straight out of bed, I'm sick, that means lots of acid in my esophagus daily. I worry about what this is doing to me and just the discomfort is enough to make me cringe. Any suggestions? I can't take many OTC heartburn meds, so something natural would be appreciated! Thanks for your input!

You need to speak with your doctor about this. Many times they will suggest Maalox or something else that doesn't absorb into the blood stream. Otherwise you can try eating smaller meals all day long. Talking to your doc would be best though. YOu have a long way to go with your pregnancy and the heartburn usually gets worse.

I've told my doctor, but he just kind of smirks about it. So obviously no help there. Which is why I'm asking here.

I know what you are going through. I had terrible heartburn with my last child. I found it helped if I drank a LOT of water during the day and ate really small amounts of food several times a day instead of three big meals. It also will help if you give your food time to digest before you lay down for the night. Good luck to you!

I really don't get enough water, I know that. I drink other stuff, tea, milk, koolaid. I'm just not much into water. lol. I usually try not to eat big meals, but sometimes its hard. Last night for instance, I kinda pigged out on grilled food. First of the season and it tasted fanstastic. lol I also try not to eat at night. I don't go to bed until very late, so that's not much of a problem. Thanks
