My oldest three were moved out of our room as soon as they were sleeping through the night. That was around 6 months for each of them. The older 2 each went into their own room and the third one moved in with her older brother when it was time.
Now our fourth is about the turn one and she still sleeps in our room. It just seems easier like that. She still wakes up sometimes at night and it is easier for me to just get up and deal with her in our room instead of having to walk down the hall to one of the other kids' rooms and then she might possibly wake up her brother or sisters.
Personally I prefer them going to their own room as soon as they are sleeping soundly through the night or by the age of one. I really don't like having the baby in our room but it works best. I usually sleep on the couch in the living room anyway because my husband snores and the baby keeps me awake.

That sucks. Mine is 11 months and she is teething so she has been waking up at all odd hours of the night. Well she was a couple weeks ago. She seems to have gone back to sleeping at night. But she wakes up around 5 or 6 every morning wanting a bottle, which is getting annoying, especially since I don't get to bed until around 2am.
My 4 year old started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks but at 7 months she was teething and she started waking up all the time. She didn't start sleeping through the night again until she was 16 months. It was hell. She was downstairs sharing a room with her 2 year old brother at the time so like twice a night I had to stumble down the stairs to deal with her. After awhile her brother learned to get up and giver her the pacifier if she dropped it, lol. He is such a sweetie.
When the baby finally does go into her own room she is going in with her brother, I think. He is 5 1/2 but he adores the baby and would do anything for her.

well how about from the first day they where born?
i don't understand why everybody want their kids in their own room? i think i wouldn't sleep one night!
both of my girls slept from the beginning in their own room, i used the babymonitor for the nights and that worked out fine for me! i hear without the monitor every cry, i am a light sleeper so i see no reason to let them sleep in my room!
both of them sleep the whole night, and that means me too!
thet are 2,5 years and 10 months!
