I have my great-grandmothers china. The set is not complete since pieces had gotten broke prior to me receiving them. I have them in my curio cabinet.

I have some plates that were my mothers. That is the ones that survived my housefire. I had a sewing cushion that my grandmother made that looked like a little overstuffed chair. That is gone now. I cherish those few plates and coming from an old family that is a bit of an accomplishment.

My grandmother used to collect tea cups, I was given 1 along with all the daughters and granddaughters in the family. I also have a depression glass egg tray and a serving plater from the 1930's. Sometimes I use them but not often becuase I want to pass them to my daughter as a tradition and don't want them broke.

My mother had some dishes that were from both my grandmothers, but somehow my sister managed to take them when she left home!

My grandfather gave me a gold plated glass he had from his mother. It is one of my most precious posessions. I also have a tea china set from my grandmother, and some china mugs. From my other grandmother i have a set of fruitplates, and some dinner plates and glasses. I also have some silver candlesticks they got for their wedding. I think it is so neat to be able to have those things. They remind me of them every time I see them or use them.

Oh Carolee, Do I have dishes that were left to me by grandmothers. I have this beautiful set of dishes that were purchased in China by my grandmother's husband, my grandfather. She passed them down to me. They are the most beautiful set of dishes (china) I have ever seen. I loved them so much I went online to find extra pieces to go with the set. What a treasure.
