Today like any other day, I get off work and I always have something to drink on the way home, whether it be water or a pop (soda) I still call it pop..lol But, today I stopped at a little convienent store and I saw some cans of Tab. Some of you may remember when most came in a glass bottles? hahaha boy how the times have changed... I'm still searching for a Pepsi of course, but, I hardly ever seen Tab around much anymore...It's like Coke and Pepsi just took over..lol However, I get back on the road and started thinking about it and figured this would be a interesting post, Old sodas that you hardly ever see anymore, well at least for me. Mello Yello, that use to be my favorite, I would get that before any other, Or Fresca I don't see that much anymore either... So my question to you is what were some of your favorite sodas you enjoyed growing up that they just don't have or you can't seem to find much anymore? Any of the ones I mentioned you still can't find? Any stories you want to share, please do..

Feeling nostalgic, eh? I am afraid sodas are really not popular in Singapore - not when you are young, not when you are old. :P So I have no answer to your question in that I don't have any favorite sodas. In fact, we are all being healthy good boys, trying to ween off the soft drinks we drink while we were young. (Soda is not just another name for soft drink right?)

I drink green tea every night haha. Actually I still prefer coffee though I seldom drink it nowadays. Oh yea, brandy 7-up is just about the most heavenly concoction on earth. ^^

I used to drink 'seven up' when I was young. We collected lots of caps from the seven up bottles to exchange them for accessories.I think 32 caps got you a fido dido T-shirt and 15 caps got you a fido dido cap ,10 got you a fido dido scale, lol. We used to barter soccer player's cards for 7 up caps from our friends who didn't know about the fido dido offer ,lol. They couldn't believe that we would give them cards of Burruchaga,Giannini,Frank Richard (all soccer stars) for some stupid caps:-P.But later 7 up almost disappeared from the market and we never heard about it any more.Recently, the fido dido commercials are being aired again and 7 up is back with a bang. Now,I have switched to pepsi,coca-cola,mountain dew, sprite and the likes. So, the only reason I'd go back to my old bottle would be a life-size poster of Fido-dido,lol.

Reading your question is forcing me to take a stroll down memory lane. Where I grew up, the Philippines, we call sodas as soft drinks. I remember drinking Coke out of an 8 ounce bottle, not a can. Canned sodas were more expensive in comparison to the bottled ones. We also only have one kind of Coke and Pepsi, none of the variety that is available here in the US. Mello Yello for a time was popular. We have a drink called Fanta that came in diffent flavors. However I was a true blue Classic Coke fan when I was growing up, downing that beverage almost five times in a day. Thank goodness I have weaned myself from sodas now. But once in a while, I would still have that urge for the real sweetness of a regular coke.

My favorite was always Lemon Lime. I used to think that was the best drink in the house, but I certainly don't see anymore. You talk about cans now instead of bottles. I really dislike the canned pop. A deadly snack would be a bottle of Lemon Lime and a bag of Onion & Garlic Potatoe chips, but again here in Canada where I am no one knows what either one is :-(
