Avatar Changes?

This is one of the great things about being a member of myLot. I have had the same avatar since joining myLot a few months back. It is of me, my youngest grandson, & my beagle. One day I decided to change it for some reason. Guess I was bored with it. Anyhow after a few hours here I was commenting on the responses on one of my discussions. I read this one in particular. It mentioned something along the lines of the member looked for "grandpa Bob" (me) and couldn't find me. Then they went on to say but then I saw this picture of a restaurant and it was you. Well this person is not on my friends list. Yet responds ever so often. It touched my heart to know that someone not on my list of friends came looking for my discussions. It was the greatest feeling I have experienced as a myLotter. So now I'm going to go back to my original avatar for that purpose. Just thought you might enjoy knowing that people here will seek you out for great quality discussions. Thanks for letting me blab away like this. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!

Yes, I suppose people do look for certain avatars when they come to mylot, I am looking for a certain picure, but have no found it yet, so the one I have is for now. Acually you can't tell unless it is blown up, but my avatar at present(the black one)is actually a picture of down town lights and the white spot in the middle is a bolt of lightning that was caught if the frame.

I changed my avatar after reaching my 500 posts. Decided to stick with the second one when I reached 1000 posts. A lot of people are commenting about just how adorable my pet bunny is. I used my real pet bunny as my avatar on both occasion. This way, people will still recognize me. Since I'm the only one using my real pet bunny's pictures. Happy posting, grandpa.

I read a discussion this morning about someone using someone elses avatar as theirs. Thing is it was a pic of the original users. Thats so sad now. I feel thats going WAY overboard. Maybe steal the avatars that are like comics gifs or that type maybe. But to steal/use a picture of someone else as your avatar? Unreal. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

My opinion is someone "stealing" someone else's avatar or picture is the same as stealing a discussion or response. They need to get their own or get outta myLot.

About a few days ago, someone from my list of friends actually used my avatar as her picture on her thread. I was very surprised and asked this friend why she used my avatar. She said it is related to her topic. Grandpa, I would have easily dropped the matter. But the way she said it like "what's wrong with using your avatar, like its no big deal." It really annoyed me.

I'm a bit like that, I get used to my friends Avatars, I think you can change them when you like really but it's nice if people get used to one that is special to you, I had a few before I settled on my "Lovey-Dovey" which a friend sent me last summer, if you notice yesterday she changed - got her wings working - another friend shrank her so she works on mylot, it's very exciting! Maybe you could still use the new one if that is what you would really like, let the person who had lost you know and become a friend too perhaps and then stick to your new avatar. I like to spot a friend via their avata in other peoples discussions as I go through the replies before I add my own, that why I learn a little more about my friends at the same time as giving the best response I can to the discussion.

egifts, if you have a picture that moves I have a discussion going now about how to animate them on mylot, there are a couple of really good friends there, helping everyone to get there amnimated pictures small enough to work here. I'm glad you like my lovey-dovey I think she's fantastic too, lol

I love your avatar! It's so cool to have it animated, I wish I could animate mine -- make the lightening flash, or something. It's a little out of my computer-skills range at the moment. LOL!

Hey HoneyAngel. You should maybe straighten out those eyebrows & grow points on those ears. Does that sound logical?

Grandpa Bob, I agree, many people know you by your avatar and by changing it they don't look at your name just the pic. That is why I prefer to keep the same one. I can add other photos on my profile page for them to see.

I've been overwhelmed with other members and not just friends here showing so much love, interest, and respect in and for me. It's actually unbeleiveable to a point. But thanks for the response once again. Greatly appreciated.

Heya Grand PA!;) Well for me, I try to recognize some of the users here by their names and popularity too!;) I saw your previous avatar, and I think the one that you first had here was a very cute picture, together with your beagle and of course with your grandson. Though you're not on my friend's list, I do consider you as a friend, because I find your posts entertaining and amusing!;) By the way, I consider you as one of those popular users here!;) Thanks for bringing back your original avatar, loved it!;) ~Raijin~

hey dadu hi again.... how are you today? Well i agree to the fact that the avatar really plays an important role.... it comes into picture to play the most important role once someone else visits you, for an example,,just while surfing if i find an eye pleasing avatar, I'd definitley go to that particular profile atleast once!!! BUt stil i have a firm believe that nothing matches originality..... and originality comes from yor original pics////what say dadu?

I like you blab! It does feel nice when something like that happens. I think the world would be a safer and more peacefull place if we all looked out for each other and took the time to be kind and caring. Maybe one day we will. One can hope.

I would like to add some comments here. It was quite surprising for me to see you with a new avatar. Really it was shocking for me. I decided to change mine as well and here it is a new one. This is my son whose name is Ali Asad thats why I have nick name aliasad! Isn't it interesting? What I felt having your new one was "O! my Lord, where is my Grandpa Bob" Thanks for coming with the older one. I feel that my grandpa is back ;) So sweet my grandpa!! Thanks again

Why thanks a lot. I felt after that first episode of someone not being able to find "grandpa Bob" I had to change back to the old recognizeable avatar.

I haven't changed my avatar either since I joined, I think the reason being is that I am the only one that has this one and its easier to find my discussions or replies coz i just look for the picture of the hand with the butterfly. Its just easier to spot. But what a nice gesture that this user was looking for your picture to see what your discussions were about, its quite a compliment, and one well deserved....

i think people look for your discussions because you put grandpa bob at the end of every post its almost like your being the online grandpa to everyone except for your not giving us money like grandpas in real life do lol.

Well - I might or might not change my avatar. The ones I wanted to use are copyrighted, & not by me. I don't know if MyLot would take kindly to that. So instead, I swiped something out of a smiley pack, right after posting something that sort of made me look like the present avatar I'm using now.

WOW Bob! That must be a great feeling! I also sometimes get confused with mylotters constantly changing their avatars... I find my friends list constantly changing and displaying new photos of people (or things) I don't recognize I've added as friends! I'm now looking into changing my own. This is my main "mystery" avatar everywhere, and is related to my blogs/websites... but at the same time, I think I've got much better photos of myself. Oh my god! I should start a thread on that!

Since I've joined mylot, I haven't change my avatar yet. I like to change my avatar depends on my mood or on what's in my thougts now. At the time I put this avatar, I like this little angel, and I think I should be grateful of my life, and also send my blessings to everyone. ^_^
