What was your ambition when you were young ? Do you have the same ambition now? What are you going to do to achieve that goal?? How is the progress now??

When I was young, my parents owned an ice-cream stand. I always wanted to buy it off them because they had bought it from my grandparents. I thought of it as a family business. Then after working there about my entire life, they sold it when I was in the 11th grade. I was thankful because I really do not think I would have done well with it to make a living. Also without that restriction of owning a business, I was able to branch out and get an idea of what I really wanted to do with my life. Right now, I am working a computer help desk. I make enough to pay the bills but I want to find something else. The problem is I am not sure what else I want to do. I would love to play the drum in a band for a living, but that is so difficult these days. Nevertheless, I still I have my hopes about it.

I swore that I would be come a nurse, get married and have 'lots' of kids. (I was an only child and really wanted siblings.) Well, I became a nurse, got married and I have 4 wonderful children and 1 grandchild!! As for my professional goal, I actually took a turn and did more than I ever thought I would! I went back to school in my 30's and got my masters degree and after working as a nurse for many years, I now teach nursing at a local collge. I can honestly say that I am pleased with my progress to date!

I realized ambition is mainly illusion... reality is so material and concrete that makes seem great targets to reach very little things.

I wanted to become a lawyer but instead I started working for a car rental company, I worked there for 15 years. And now apart from spending to much time on MyLot, I work for my husband, he has his own business, and I am from secretary to bookkeeper

I wanted to become a pilot when I was young. I got a call letter from the IAF (Indian Air Force) but I could not attend the interview due to some problems at my home. Well, now I'm doing my engineering and I've got a lot of options right now I'm going to try for doing MBA or Join in defence academy. Right now this is my goal.

I'm not sure I have ever had any definitive goals or ambitions .. ! I do like to learn something new every day .. and I hope that when I am really old and decrepit I will have somewhere safe and comfortable to live .. I prefer to take life as it comes .. you never know what tomorrow will bring and I prefer to be 'open' to all opportunities rather than just looking in one direction ...

I didn't really know what I wanted to become when I was young. I was interested in a lot of things like becoming an Air hostess, Nurse, Teacher, Secretary, working in retail or obtain a job where I could travel the world. I haven't achieved either of them and ended up in the Library and Information Industry and also Business Administration working for an NGO organisation and a Bank. I suppose it's never too late to start on either one of them right?
