Punishment for protection...right or wrong

Do you think it's alright to hit your child in order to teach it to stay away from danger...Warm stoves, electricity etc. Is it child abuse or just a wise way to protect your children?

No I think its absolutely wrong to hit .. hittin will solve the problem .. it will only draw in line between you and your child .. he will never get close to you if you keep hitting to make him obedient or save him form dangers.. you have to teach him by experiencing like u show him through actions that the stove can burn his hands .. doin actions will help the child understand not to do it .. we can try different ways to refrain the kid from doing certain things but hittin surely is incorrect in any situation ..

I don't see how hitting a child will teach her or him anything. For one it's abuse and secondly, what can hitting accomplish that words can't? My parents always warned me by just talking to me and that worked just fine. Perhaps just a slight tap on the fingers could be done, but certainly nothing that causes actual pain.

I do not think it is right to HIT a child. Spanking is a different thing though. I believe in spanking. But when you haul off and backhand a child, that is abuse.

it is never ok to hit your children hitting is abuse there are so many ways to teach a child right from wrong with out hitting. hitting a child only teaches them to hit others when they do something your child dosnt like because they were taught to hit when someone dosnt do as they say
