Have you ever been in a situation where someone has done or said something extremely rude? How do you let them know, in a dignified manner? I had to call a credit card company because of fraudulent charges after several transfers I get this fellow (?) who whispered not quite under his breath "I Hate This Computer......Add the Lord's name in Vain. It upset me..... He couldn't figure out how to use the computer so transfered me to his supervisor... I made a complaint about the other person at that point. That I should not have to be subjected to such unprofessional and offensive behaviour when calling. What situations have you had, how did you respond?

I had a problem when trying to sort out charges made on my sons mobile. He had downloaded 1 song but every month when his credit got put in it dissapeared. I kept getting transferred between 2 seperate companies with no result. I got so frustrated after 3 hours of this. The service provider kept saying they could not do anything. I finally managed to get hold of the supervisor who sorted my problem it turns out the staff member was new and didn't understand my request. I was just glad it was finally sorted.

I was visiting my parents over the summer, they live a great distance from me and I have not been able to go to their home in 9 years. On the day before I left I decided I had better renew the minutes on my tracphone. The foreign operator could not seem to understand my request and had me pushing so many codes to no avail. after 2 full hours I insisted she get me her supervisor. He couldn't understand her problem and got me situated right away. I asked if they would compensate me for my "wasted" Saturday, the last day of my visit and spoiled plans.... he gave me 20 free minutes.

I had to deal with a rude person the other day on the hpone at work. He rang up asking for the head of my department, when i told him he wasn't there he sarcastically said, oh, does he get 2 hours for lunch then these days? I politely pointed out to him that he was at a meeting on site (it's an Engineering company) and that he wouldn't be back untill such and such time. The bloke seemed to be taken off guard at my polite response, so much so that he asked when he's be back, i said the time again and he mutter, oh yeah you said. Sometimes you just have to remain polite and not sink to their level. They just want a reaction from you so if you give them none they give up being rude.

If someone is really rude and says something plainly that is mean, I will nicely say wow, you are really rude and I do not want to deal with you today. If its someone who is obviously having a bad day I would make a comment such as it sounds like you're having a bad day, I hope it gets better.. just my 2 cents..
