Hi Guys I'm really not having a go at dogs here - just the lazy owners - who I know are in the minority who do not clean up after their dog! My daughters school grounds are out of bounds for dogs at any time yet for months now the kids have been unable to use the playing fields for about 4 months cause there is dog excrement all over the place! Also the school is only a few minutes walk from my house and last time I walked up there were about 6 different piles of dog poo! It isn't so difficult to scoop when they poop all you need is a plastic bag - yet rather than be responsible for there pets there are some people who would rather endanger childrens health by leaving it lying! Would they do this if they needed to defecate? I know you guys are all responsible owners and wondered what your opinion on this is? It is against the law to let your dog foul in school grounds and public paths!

We have a poop scoop law here but only about half the peopl follow it. To lazy I guess and no one enforces the law anyway. They are more worried about the old man feeding the pigeons that are pooping on their cars than to worry about dog poo

We have leash laws and you can get a fine for not picking up what your dog dumps.
Don't you(UK) have a health department that steps in and enforces sanitary conditions at the school. That is awful.I'd rather step in horse manure then dog poop.Dog poop stinks more.
Honey find that dog owner and put the poop in her pocket.Make sure you get all the piles.Sorry I;m mean...pain level up so gotta take it out on the computer so I can be nice to those around me.

Oh honey so sorry your feelin bad! You can take it out on me any time! Does this mean we are gonna meet up once you've taken your meds? If I could find the owner I'd probably have to be held back! There are laws and I have tried to contact several departments for help but to no avail - I will however persevere! big hugs honey!

This is a huge pet peeve for me also... We live in the country and have our entire yard (5 acres) invisible fenced in.. So our 2 dogs only poo in our yard.. They are both pretty smart and only go to the bathroom in a small area.. Makes it much easier to clean up... Its the other dogs out here in the country- Especially our neighbor dog-- He comes over and takes big turds right out front! I know his owners know he does it-- yet it is me who cleans it up.. People need to be responsible if they want pets. I agree!!!

My thoughts are plain and simple... Bring a bag. What does it hurt to have some plastic bags with you when you walk your dog? If you are at the park, just throw it in the trash. That is even easier. If you're walking your dog, just carry it with you or find an outside garbage to throw it in. Either way, there is no point in bothering, or possibly harming, other people just because you are too lazy to take care of your living creature! And this is coming from a guy who owns two dogs, and two cats.

That's why I blog. To educate the 'uneducatable': the ones that won't pick up a book, but will read post after post on these sites. So by bringing it up, you are doing a great job. LOL.

It is against the law full stop. Here there are signs telling you to clean up after your Dog as it can be a £1000 fine if you get caught. I always have a bag with me and clean up after little Man and no it is not nice, but it is also not nice to have it on mind that a child can get sick because it touched it or stood in it. It is also not nice for an Adult and it looks awful

You are correct they have lazy owners. Dont they have laws where people get fined? It is a form of littering.

Well the people that have dogs in my country if the owners do not clean up after the dog then they will be charged as no dog is allowed to just go where it wants to as it is the responsibility of the owner to make sure that the dog is on a lead not just anywhere. And when they take the dog for a walk they have to pick up their own dogs poop and not leave a mess anywhere.

We have poop laws and leash laws, I always clean up after my guys. ALways bring a bag for each of them and a spare in case, they are over-achieving that day. At first the neighbors gave me nasty looks until they realized that the doggie gifts were from other dogs and not mine.
Many people just let their dogs out to wander where they may. I have frequently picked up other people's dog poops and left them on their front step. One neighbor in particular, his dog always pooped on my lawn, but he felt since I have a dog I would understand and not mind. He is wrong!
