McDonalds Australia has the right Idea don't you think?

Checkout http://mcdonalds.com.au if you want to see this, but the other day I was in McDonalds and they are trying out 9 "Tick Approved" (By the National Heart Foundation) Meals on their menu. These are meant to be balanced meals and mostly use McD's normal fare like McChicken and McNuggets and Hamburgers. Almost every one of these meals include a salad and some even include a frozen yogurt! They also have a catch where they can't sell it as a "Tick Meal" if it's changed in any way. (That stops the lawsuits right there heh.) I mean, I know McDonalds isn't a great place for healthy food, but I think this is an awesome idea. I wish other fast food chains would try it.

yes but have you noticed that the price of the healthy option is also alot higher than the unhealthy option, i dont think they will ever be making the healthy option cheaper coz if they do the unhealthy burger would have to be about $10.00 each.

It's all publicity really. Sure, it's great that they have some Heart Foundation approved foods on there, but if it wasn't for the masses of lost publicity due to movies like Super Sizer Me, and Fast Food Nation, or the countless people suing them for being obese, then they never would have had to do this in the first place. I'm not a fan of McDonalds myself, but I do congratulate them on having some healthier options on their menu. It's been a long time coming. But I'll stick to what I always say. if you want to eat healthy, you DON'T walk into a McDonalds restaurant. You just don't.

Yeah. They're definitely trying to reverse bad publicity. I'm just happy the bad publicity worked. Thanks for the comment =)

It is great to see and hear that McDonalds and other fast food places are trying to serve healthier foods but that would not get me to go there and eat there. Even their healthy foods are not that healthy compared to other healthier restaurants or just eating at home. Their salads have more calories than some of their burgers.

I always get dragged to these places to eat by friends it seems... Well used to. I only eat there about once a month lately. It's a breath of fresh air that there's something a little better on the menu if I end up there. Thank you very much for your response =)
