I had told about being robbed the day before my birthday in another discussion. My sister had arranged for a couple of the girls and myself to go out to a bar to celebrate my birthday.I was still very shakey about the last night's robbery but I thought I needed a night out.
At that time of my life I did lots of unhealthy things. We had done some illegal drugs and were drinking so we were pretty high when all of a sudden people with masks came in each of the 3 entrances with shotguns. They told us to lay on the floor , to take all rings, watches, earrings, necklaces, money and put it above our heads then lay face down(face down thing was very popular with thievies in the 70's in Ca.).My sis and I crawled under the pool table when we thought we could do so unnoticed aqnd clung together trying to make no noise and hoping not to be seen.A woman's voice was telling the bartender not to try that again and we heard a shoot and the bartender yell. Then they ran out with all out purses, wallets, money, jewelry just before the police arrived. The bartender had been shot in the foot because he dove for the alarm. The police station was only a block away and that is why they left.So I had been robbed at gun point 2 nights in a row. That was Saturday night.Monday AM my house was on the market,my jobs were quit and I was packing to move to the Mojave Dessert to get over my fear. Those events along with a couple of others are why I suffer post tramatic stress syndrome.Anyone else suffer from it?

Wow Ray I am not surprised that you moved away there and then I would have to. I mean one night was bad enough but then for it to happen the Night after as well is terrible. And I am not surprised either that you suffer with the Illness you do. Ray I am so sorry you had to go through this, here is a big Hug for you and I do hope that you never have to go through it again.
Love and Hugs to you

Yes, I also have Post Tramatic Stress disorder. I spend a year in group thearpy for this. We did dialectical Behavioural therapy. It was then broken down into an introduction which inclucded PSTD, safety, grounding and support. Then we did four modules:
1. Mindfullness
2. distress tolerness
3. affection regulation
4. inter personal effectiveness
It was a very good group therapy.

thats so scary, it is very good that you move out. Sometimes there will be a really tragic that will happen to a person. Although it is very traumatic, experienced give a lesson of life. It is very good that you safe, if it happens just give your things, remember your life is the outmost important.
