How Much Are You Paying For Gas?

United States

Lately, I hear about the gas prices on the news every day. I often wonder how our community compares to other communities when it comes to gas prices. Well you are not going to believe this but there is a site called Maps in the news and it is sponsored by Utopia. It has the gas prices all over the United States. Now you can compare your communities gas prices with other communities. Gas prices is not the only thing that you can compare. If there is anything on the news that has a map, it is on this site. How cool is that? Whether you want see the maps of the War in Iraq, the Israel-Lebanon War or just the Gas Prices in the United States, you can access those maps online and check them out. Glance toward the middle of the page. With the maps in the news (for instance, the maps of the war ridden countries), you can click on the link of the one you want to view and it takes you to a really huge listing of maps from that area. That covers not only the geography of the area, but also places like airfields, the routes prisoners took and much more. I really suggest that you explore this site, because there are just so many options to go through. Underneath those main few maps in the news, there is “ More Maps link” underneath them and just above the RSS feed link. There you can access the whole collection of maps, including links to maps on other sites. Now scroll down the page, still looking at the middle section, you can check out the other map exhibitions. I love to look at maps of other countries. Wow! I also posted this discussion on gather and I was amazed at the variations on prices of gas being paid across the US. I found that I get a summary of the country’s history to read, as well as, several maps to look at. The maps are: Country Maps, City Maps and Historical Maps. Each one has several options for viewing them also. You will love this and so will your older children. Check this site out here. http://utopia.utexas.edu/maps/index.html

Here in Alberta the oil Capitol of Canada were are paying the exhorbitant amount of 92.5 cents per litre. If you just do a quick conversion a pint is about the same size as a litre. 4 pints is a gallon so = $3.70 per gallon give or take a few mililetres which are like ounces. lol

The gas map was interesting. I'm 3rd from the bottom...from between $2.48-$2.60. I had heard California went about $3 a gallon recently! Wanted to see gas prices around the world, but couldn't figure out how to get to that.

Neat gas map! I'm in the burbs of Detroit and gas is about 2.50 a gallon here. It's killing me! I wish it would go down on the same scale it goes up by. The price is insane.

I live in Las Vegas, NV USA and we are at about $2.85 a gallon. I work in Primm, NV which is located on the California/Nevada border and gas prices are $3.07 a gallon. I think that Primm is usually comparable to Los Angeles prices. My parents live in MN and their gas is like 40 cents cheaper. Geez I am so glad I just moved out here. I don't even want to know what it is going to be when the summer comes. Guess I need to write some more here on MyLot just to keep driving my car!

Wow if we had to pay $6.88 per gallon in the US I think we all would definitely be broke. And I thought $2.60 was expensive. My Goodness!

right now in ohio we are paying between $2.49 and $2.55 per galloon. Does not look like it is going down anytime soon. Why or why did I not buy gas stock when gas was only $1.00 per galloon. I could retire now.

Wow, the gas price map is really pretty cool and unfortunately all to accurate. It does seem like the prices go down a little then up a lot, then down a little then up a lot. Notice a pattern here. Wonder if they have one on heating oil prices. I looked but did not see it. Nice site. Thanks.

Hi there gas prices are about 99.6 for one liter I am glad that I do not have to buy gas. but I still pay for it at the grocery store as all the food and stuff has to be brought in, I guess it is just going to be that way. What I and every one ask is why do they fluctuate so wildly and frequently. A long weekend and up go the gas prices, I recall one time I was working at 7 eleven and this guy comes in and he is steamed. What the he// is going on this morning they were 9 cents a liter cheaper. I smiled and said it is all our boss"s fault, Well finally some one fessing up why they raises the price. Yes I said he is supposed to be on a diet, and get exercise, well every morning he has to walk by the pastry isle and the candy bars are right next to his office, so he is having a problem so now he thought if he had to run up and down the ladder to change the sign he might burn of a lot of calories, so far today he has been out on the ladder 4 times, So now you know why the prices keep changing. Thank you have a lovely day. He smiled and paid with out a comment. My boss overheard this an told head office. I think it is a much better than the spin they are putting out these days

I'm actually not paying a whole lot for gas. Fortunately my hubby rides the bike to work a hour away everyday, and unless it's raining or just too cold to ride, we use the bike for everything, so even with using 92+ octane we're only paying about $20 a week for gas. When I last filled up Saturday 2.43 for premium.

about $2.47/gallon. areas close to the freeways pay more. We walk and use mass transit because it works better for us. I only drive once or twice per week.
