Tell me what you think of this paper cutting? I just take a scissor and cut it out. It is a rare art, and difficult. No patterns are used. If you click on here, you will see me how I cut on video: http://mgcreativearts.com/Finall.wmv Look at my website for more: www.mgcreativearts.com And, here is a shop of t-shirts, mousepads, clocks, and much more: http://www.cafepress.com/margieanne What do you think?

It's amazing. People like you don't make this folk art diasppear. I have never done it but in my country there is a museum for papercutting art.

There are 100 scissor cutters left world wide that do faces. Non that do what I do with a scissor. It's a collector's item now. There are a lot of papercutters that use an exacto knife. They sketch a picture and cut about 50 out at a time. It's a different art than scissor cutting. What country are you in? In the USA, most people don't know what silhouette/scherenschnitte cutting is.

I'm from the Netherlands. Papercutting with scissors is considered folk art over here though not many people nowadays do it. Have a look at this site from a dutch artist. http://kunst.vindtuhier.nl/-1826349897/Gerlof_Smit_papierknipkunst.html

I enjoyed watching the video. Incredible how you create paper cuttings. It looks easy, but I am sure it takes lots of practice and talent. What kind of scissors were you using?

Thank you dear. I use a german scissors. In fact, I have two different ones now. The one on the video is a surgical one. That is a simple cutting. Most of my cuttings run for 45 minutes to 6 hours of straight cutting. No room for any errors. I don't piece work together.

Clearly you have the ability to 'see' the finished paper cutting in your head even before you start snipping .. I could probably get close to making a reasonable picture of a Formula 1 car as that's a passion of mine and I can 'see' the car in my head .. but I'd need more than 10 minutes to make it work .. and loads of corrections hehehe

Well, some of my art takes 45 minute, with others at 6 hours. It depends on how much cutting into the shadow and the size. Well, give your car a try, and see what happens my friend.

Wow. I really enjoyed watching you do your artistic paper cutting. It was really nice and great how you came up with the girls face and hair. I did something like that when I was younger to and only remember making angels and snowflakes by doing that. I did not know you could make other neat things but just cutting paper. Great job. :-)

You my friend, are a very talented lady! I had watched your video a month or so ago when I found it on your profile page. It is absolutely fascinating. I simply don't understand how you are able to 'see' in your minds eye what the cuts will produce when unfolded. I am so impressed. Your work is awesome.

I enjoyed watching you make it on the video. I think that will do more for your sales than the picture. I think the picture looks like a painting like the earlier person said in their comment. I couldnt really see much in the photo alone but with the video, you can see and tell more about your abilities and it also made gave me the desire to try it myself. so if that is what you were hoping to accomplish, the video is best. Good to see you in your own setting.

I am so impressed with your work. Your talent is amazing. How did you develop this talent and you taught it to you? Was it something passed down in the family or did you go to school? WOW!

Thank you sugar. It is something inside of me that does it. There are no schools to learn this at. It is a lost art form. No one to learn from. I just picked up the scissors and started cutting faces. Then got bord, and started looking at things and just cutting them out. I have loved art since I am 2 years old. I have been painting forever, and cutting for 5 years now. I worked at Walt Disney World as their silhouette artist firt, then went out on my own and to galleries.

I watched the video you had posted of you doing this. But also looked at your work you had created. And I was amazed at how talented you are. I found it so interesting how a picture came out of all of this cutting you we're doing. I really enjoyed watching you create something so unique. I loved watching the video as I find it to be so much more personable as you are describing what you are doing as you cut. I find it gives a person insight in to this type of art when you watch a video of someone doing this. I know when I was in school we used to do paper cutting back then. And I remember being so good at it. But over the years I found I just stopped doing it as we never did it all to much after the first time I had learned how to do so. Now that I've been out of school for so many years.. I'd love to learn how to do this all over again. I believe the way a person can learn.. Is just by experimenting. By never giving up, & always trying to come up with something unique just by sitting there & having patience until you come up with something you like. I remember it being a lot of fun just to create paper cuttings. Sometimes you get so caught up in what you are doing.. That the hours pass a person by so fast that you are amazed at how much fun you we're having.. And also how much time had passed you by.. That's what I love about paper cutting. It's time consuming, but if you really enjoy it.. You don't even begin to realize how much time has gone by while you we're doing it.. Thank you for sharing this.. I find you to be so talented when it comes to something such as this.. And it is indeed a rare art that I believe should be more well known. I am going to check out your website as I find your art to be rather amazing. I wouldn't give up what you are doing anytime soon either.. As what you are creating in my opinion is pure beauty! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx
