Stories That Just Don't Add Up

In school they teach us all about different historic events and what not that happen in our area's or countries, the historic places, and differnt unique things even that happen in this world. Well here in schools over the past probably 100 or more years they have taught one thing that has always stuck in my mind, and that was the story of a place called Frank Slide. Well in school they told us that there was only one survivor, it was a little baby found on the outskirts of town in a carriage, it was an interesting 'One page' story. Last night my husband and i were talking about it, and our beliefs on it were the same, we decided to look up some pictures of it. Low and behold, we found a story, so long it took forever for us to read and by the time it was over, we were ready for bed. it was amazingly NOT what we had been taught. Did you ever find that something they taught you in school was totally OPPOSITE of the truth? or way off? Please share, it's amazing how messed up their stories are, and in at least 30 years, they have been passing the exact same sheet of paper with this story around... I'm actually tempted to send this website to the school board, see what they think about their misleading testimonies. Thanks.
