You have heard people say that cooking is an art. Some put it as 'culinary art'. But, is cooking really an art? I don't think so! Anybody would like to challenge on this?

As far as I know...cooking is both a science and an art. It is a science beacause it involved chemistry and math.....mixing ingredients, knowing the right proprotion and and making sure the flavors are precise and perfect. It is an art because it involves presentation with the use of shapes and colors and textures. It is an art form because it is a tool for self expression.

Deffinitelly! Like everything else, cooking has it's sect=rets and only those with feelings and sense can do it marvolously. Those with the feelings are the 'artists' in the kitchen. You can't just combine everything to make it good. Another thing is that you need to recognise other's tastes. That's what is hard from all of this.

I think you can get art in cooking but i wouldnt say cooking is an art, like coffee drawing the coffee shop down the road to me does it, they get like this brown stuff on a capachino and they draw with it, and i think that arranging things on a plate is like an art and getting colours to look good together could also be considered an art but the actual cooking i wouldnt consider it as an art

I think cooking can be considered an art when it becomes creative. I enjoy thinking about different ingredients and how flavours might complement each other, and therefore I often experiment with my own recipes. I also enjoy making the food look unusual and appealing in terms of its presentation on the plate - not just cakes and desserts but all food can be presented artistically. I have just thought of a fabulous idea for an easter cake which is going to involve a lot of chocolate eggs all over it. Once its made and decorated it will be a work of art! And delicious of course.

I would say its an art,but i'd relly like to look at it as a gift.I cook beccause I luv good food.It feels great when people say nice to you when you cook for them!My family miss my cooking when I'm out of town and it feels good to know about it that they crave for my cooking. So its an art or not doesnt matter as long as you make other people happy!
