newbie here in mylot

Hi, Ryanphil! Welcome to this wonderful community called myLot! ;-) I hope you enjoy it here. There's no need to fret or feel out-of-place. Your age doesn't matter one bit here. If you are looking for friends, you will definitely find people here who share the same interests as you. The best way to start is update your interests. Share with us everything that interests you. From there you will find discussions that you may find interesting and worth responding to. If you see people who seem to post nice discussions, ask them to be your friends. If you see people who seem to have the same thinking as you do, invite them as friends too. Post on their discussions also. Add comments on their profiles thanking them for being friends with you. Send them messages. Post discussions and respond to discussions to earn some money. But most importantly, I hope you can establish real friendships with the people here and have fun!

In myLot what you need to do is pretty simple. You can respond to others' discussions or start your own discussions and wait for responses, either way, you get 1 point per discussion shown beside your name in brackets. You have to earn more points and can earn more money. But the posts you make and its quality decides how much you will be paid per post. To improve your quality, make your posts as long as possible, use good language, don't use shorthands, and follow punctuations. That is it. Happy myLotting.

I can see that this was posted 3 weeks ago and I got to it just now. There just happen to be so many discussions posted this time considering the high mylot population. Anyway, getting to your discussion, I have observed that you have quickly adjusted to the environment. Will you believe me if I'd tell you that it took me something like a month (or was it even more than that) before I mustered enough courage to post my own discussion? During my first days here, I only make so few responses each day. All the time, I was afraid I will not be doing it right. My earnings were so low and my star refused to budge, it stayed at one for so long and seemed to take forever at three. I didn't care. What mattered then was, that I am not going the wrong way while I was still groping at things around here. Well, until now, I am not good enough at this thing. What keeps me going is the fact that I am very talkative and mylot is a good venue to blurt myself out just as I am doing now. So get rid with all those anxieties. There is hardly anyone around here who have more than 10 true to life friends with them in mylot. We are all counting on each other here in the mylot community for support. And indeed, support you'll get when you need it.

Welcome to mylot, I haven't been here long either and just like you I looked at the screen and thought to myself what on earth do I do now, but you will be surprised when you answer one response how quickly you will build your friends and your numbers up. My way of looking at it is to have a lot of fun and a good laugh, find people who think like you do and some easy discussions you can start off with. Welcome to MyLot. All of us have been newcomers at one time (I've only been on for about two weeks myself). For me, I just look for postings that I am interested in and respond to those. Once in a while I even start a discussion myself. Good luck & have a good time.
