Anyone else have tinnitus? or constant ringing in the ears? Somedays are much louder than others, and much more distracting. I think it'd like to drive me insane if I let it! other days it is more in the background and I can ignore it for the most part. Playing classical music with headphones on seems to help disguise the annoyance, but is not very practical as a housewife and mother. What do you do to relieve yourself of the ringing? what do you think causes it? I've heard that aspirin use can, as well as food poisoning.

I have experienced this problem when having a sinus infection. My doctor told me when my infection was better the ringing would stop and he put me on medication. The ringing did go away. My father was exposed to loud noise most of his work day and has tinnitus now. He has lost some of his hearing and wears hearing aids.

hi modestah, just joined my lot, i have had tinnitus for around 6 years, i am 60 , haven,t been able to find anything that helps, althought i have tried the ear coning candles and they seem to alleviate it for a while, it is very distracting and also embarrassing because i seem to have to say 'huh' all the time, if you have any suggestions i am all 'ears' [no pun intended].

Hello LM Willis and welcome to mylot. I am sorry that I do not know of anything, yet, to cure this nagging condition.

I have tinnitus. Sometimes there is ringing, sometimes there is a popping noise. It's usually in my right ear, which almost always feels "funny" (that's the best way I can describe it!). Sometimes the funny feeling worsens into my ear feeling plugged up, and then my balance gets thrown off and I get dizzy. I don't know what started it, but it seems to be worse now that I have to wear a headset on my ear at all times at work. 8 hours of moisture being locked in can't be good. Doctors don't seem to find anything wrong with my ears, though. Last time my doctor said they looked perfect. Go figure.
