Where do you have TV's?

I was just watching one of my favorite shows, 'How I Met Your Mother', and they were talking about having a TV in the bedroom. I had always assumed that everybody wants a TV in their bedroom because I have always had a TV in my bedroom. I am addicted to TV and my DVR. I jst couldn't live without it. I have found out over the years though, that not everybody wants a TV in their bedroom. Do you want a TV in your bedroom? What other rooms do have or want a TV in? Personally, my dream home would have a TV in every room and they'd all be hooked up to one massive DVR/TiVo kind of thing so I can always watch my recorded shows.

we have one in the living room and one in our bedroom. i have heard that its better to not have a tv in the bedroom so that the relationship can do better. i guess the logic behind that is that we are supposed to spend quality alone time in there. but other than those two rooms, i am happy with where we have them.

exactly ;) thats why i dont care that there is a tv in our room. lol. ha. that IS our quality time. we have a 17 month old and he rules the tv in the living room (well not really, but it sure does feel like it sometimes) so for us to lay down in bed and cuddle while watching a good show, thats "our" time.

But if you are spending your lives together, or at least sharing this moment in life together, aren't you gonna spend a lot of time together? I understand people get busy, but if you wanna spend time quality time, a TV shouldn't stop ya.

There is a TV in all five bedrooms including the master suite, two in the living room, one in the kitchen, one in the office, one in the garage, one in the master bath, one in the master closet, a projection system that has something like a 20 foot projection screen in the woods on the front lawn by the ponds and a smaller ten foot one by the pool deck. For the exact dimensions of the projection screens you'd have to ask the menfolk. Those we use in the summertime for film festivals and marathons. I mainly watch my measly 21 inch flat. And yes, in my life, TV and DVR in the bedroom because when you are sick or not wanting to watch the same thing you've always got a spare. Where I live now, well its a bit overboard but hey, some men like their toys. LOL

LOL You'd fit right in. My mother has a soft spot for artistic male slackers. LOL She takes in borders for six month leases. Room and board is cheap but amenities are high. Go fig!

First off, do you want to take in a 29 year old writer/slacker? Secondly, I think you need a few more TV's. LOL.

We have always had a tv in our bedroom. My husband and I have always watched our shows before bedtime in the bedroom. We're moving into a new home and now we have a finished basement that we are putting a family room down there for the kids so now we will have a tv in the living room and then one in the basement and that's it. No tvs in any of the bedrooms anymore.

I used to have TV in my room. Slowly, I found that I wasn't really using it. And it kinda take up space. I think with the computer and working life, i dun need a TV anymore. Life has been on the move and things don't just stand still like the TV anymore.

We have a tv in the living room and are thinking about getting a tv for the girl's and not for their bedroom. We are lucky that we can't do that because they each have their own room. My hubby wants to get them their own because he is tired of listening to the movies that my 2yr old wants to watch. We also have 2 in a storage room and when we get our house one will go in the office and one will go in the basement.

That seems to be a big reason for more TV's; having to deal with what the little ones are watching.

We have a TV in the living room and one in our guest/computer room. I wouldn't want one in the bedroom because I have read that using your bedroom as an office or for watching TV can make it harer for you to go to sleep, because your mind doesn't associate the room with resting as easily. I have a hard enough time falling asleep, I don't want to take any chances.

That's odd. I actually use the TV to fall asleep. I have Cartoon Network on every night when I go to bed.

I used to love lying in bed with my ex and watching TV together. Especially on cold winter nights.

I am a TC addict too but I can only afford 2 TVs at home. I have one in the living room and 1 in the bedroom. The one in the bedroom is only small, 14 inches only. But if have the money, my dream is to have a big one inside our room and another one in the kitchen.

We only have 1 TV. Actually we have 2 and they are both in the living room sitting side by side. One is hooked up to the cable and DVR and the other is hooked up to the Playstation. Originally the second TV was going to go in our bedroom but it never made it that far. I would like one in there with at least basic cable and a DVD player so I can go somewhere and watch TV when my husband is playing his video games and watching something stupid on TV. But the only cable hookup is in the living room. When I was little we only had one TV in the living room. There were my parents and me and my brother fighting over it so my mom got my dad a 13" TV for their bedroom when he turned 40 (in 1986). Then the next year both me and my brother got our own TVs. After that we all spent most of our time in our rooms, lol. We will eventually get a TV for the kids' room with a DVD player because Dora the Explorer and all that are getting on my nerves.

I have a TV in all the bedrooms and one in the den. I had one in the kitchen but I gave that one away. I would like to have them all hooked up on a Tivo too. It makes it nice when everyone wants to watch something different. When I was a kid we all had to watch TV in one room and it had to be whatever was on, because we only had a local channel. therefore, I never watched much TV and still don't watch much today.

We have a TV in our living room and my kids have one in each of their rooms, but, for some reason I don't have one in my room! How unfair! :)
