In my openion, singer is a person he/she has all skills of singing the songs like compose the one song in another tune, thinks fast and tune it, S.P. BALU is a great singer in all languages, he has been a singer for my childhood, really he inspires everyone with him sweet tone, and same as sunitha, she is a hard worker, selected by BALU as a singer.

I do have a bunch on my list and I'd much rather not mention any name in here.
But one thing I notice about a singer is the distinctive quality of her/ his voice. If he/ she makes me lose myself while listening, then, I am hooked to her/ his music for a long time.
I like singers who can tug at my emotions.

I like what I call singer's singers. The ones who have such distinctive voices that you recognize them immediately and they usually make whatever they sing the definitive version of the song. Sarah McLaughlin definitely qualifies as does Jennifer Warnes. But for me the ultimate singer's singers are probably Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis.

I do not have one favorite singer - i have a few that i will always come back to. If i am to pick one today it would be Susanne Sundfør. Her first album was released yesterday. i just think it is really great. If I was you I'd look her up on the net. at MYSPACE you can here two of her songs.

For local artists, my fave one is Yeng Constantino. She's not only a young singer but also a talented one too. I love her song compositions. So nice. For foreign artists, yeah! John Mayer is one of my fave. And also the Boyz II Men.

Wow, I've got such a long list, I don't know if I could go through them all right here. Several bands, but as far as solo singers go, I really like a lot of John Mayer's stuff. Utada Hikaru is a very good singer as well (she did the theme songs for both Kingdom Hearts videogames, and has several other good songs as well).
