Handling food verses / handling money

I went to to this coffee shop this morning to get coffee. I started to buy a Breakfast sandwich but I change my mind. I saw the person cooking food and going into the cash register, that's why I changed my mind about getting something to eat there. I pay very close attention to things like that. if I go in a resturant and order food, and after I pay for it and the person is cooking the food, if I didn't see them wash their hands I will tell them. some might get a attitude, but that is just how I am, would'nt you do that? they are suppose to wear gloves anyway. = +

Thje dirties thing a normal person will ever handle is money. Just think about where your money has been; on the floor, in a man's sweaty back pocket, buried in a woman's dirty purse, etc... I try to wash my hands after dealing with money when I work, since I do work retail and touch a lot of money. But I don't think about who's making my food. Out of sight, out of mind. If you really paid attention and looked into things, you'd find out that most restaurants are fairly dirty in the back and have some sort of a pest problem (bugs or rodents), the food isn't always prepared the best of ways, etc... Most of this won't really harm you, so i don't see the point of worrying about. If I don't see it, then it doesn't happen.

Yes sweet-heart, but when you see this type of thing you don't want to eat there.

I don't want to eat food handled by someone after they have handled money, yuck. Money is full of germs. I wash my own hands before I eat, specially if I have handled money. We can never be too careful when it comes to washing our hands or with handleling food.

You are 100% right, and I agree with you. I have been to the rest room and watched waitresses go in, do their business, and walk out without washing their hands. I have seen a lot of the no gloves, handling food, picking up the phone and handling cash in donut, coffee, and bagel shops. I have turned them in too.

Yes, you have to be very careful were you eating. I also watch if people in medical offices wash their hands. For most part we can avoid sickness by washing hands. In food industry, it can cause deadly poisoning.

I don't blame you for doing that too. That is not very sanitary. I wouldn't want to eat food either if I knew the person who cooked it, wasn't washing their hands and making sure that they are not directly touching what I am about to eat. I am very picky on those things also. I won't eat food that someone directly puts their hands on if they do not wear gloves when they are preparing it and a hair net. There for a long time, Taco Bell, where we live, had a bunch of teenagers working there, preparing food, and none of the were wearing gloves. I didn't want it. that is nasty.

It sure is Sweet Heart how are you today? I feel the same way. I always look, I went to the store the other day too buy some donuts and The cleark was getting me some dounut's I told him let me get them. even though he used a bag, he still had his dirty hands on the bag after handling money. he went to open bag I said oh no! let me get it. the dounuts were right by me.

That is nasty. I would of reported it to the health district. I will never buy food from someone that doesn't wash hands right before making my food and not only that, they have to have gloves. Most places do wash hands, but don't wear gloves and that is still nasty in my eyes. I think gloves are a must. I know places like Subway have gloves, but Burger King doesn't. I would call them all out and then report it. Lazyness is what I think it is. To lazy to wash their hands and slip some gloves on.

yes you usually do wear gloves if you are handling both. There is nothing with someone doing both, but they should either wash their hands or wear gloves. I would do the same as you do. If I saw somone handling both, I would say something too!!!

I have noticed this in the past too. I think that it should be a different person doing the money that the food, but this isn't always the case. If you handle money a lot your hands go black and smell horrible, I don't really want that in my food.
