Adipose (Fat) tissue is an organ which sends out starvation signals when the stomach is empty for 3-4 hrs. When the starvation signal is active, the metabolic rate goes down. Later , when we eat a major portion goes for storage as fat. People who skip breakfast are major fat gainers. Those who go on starvation diets , invariably gain fat and lose muscle. Exercise opens up the insulin receptors , build muscle and thereby increase our fat burning ability. It is also known that endurance exercise (7 hrs per week)burns fat. Hence Eat well(heavy breakfast and small bites every 3-4 hrs), exercise at least 7 hrs per week and lose weight.

I didn't know the 7hrs per week exercise duration. Where or who suggested that exact number?

Good question. It was picked up from the latest Consensus Statement of the American Diabetes Association.
