I am in a clinical trial at Duke for Lexapro. Just thought I would ask how this drug affects you. If anybody takes this drug please discuss how it made you feel? The Good and the bad side of it.

I have been taking Lexapro (10mg) for a little over 3 weeks for depression and it has been great and has really helped me...I no longer sweat the small stuff. As for side effects, the first 10 days were the worst. I would get really dizzy and light-headed and couldn't sleep very well even though I felt exhausted. Recently thoug, the only real side effect has been frequent headaches but I just pop a couple of tylenol and thats taken care of.

I was on Lexapro 10 in conjunction with Wellbutrin. My doctor advised me to break the Lexapro pills and only take half per day. He stated that Lexapro has been known to cause agitation when taken for a long period of time, which is why I took less than the usual dosage along with the Wellbutrin. The combination therapy was amazing. Doctors have a tendancy to over-medicate me because there isn't just one miracle pill that will make me all better so they keep upping the dosage until I'm a zombie. I remained on the treatment for about a year to get me through hard times and then the doctor weened me off of both medications to see how I would do. They say that Lexapro is very addictive, but in my case I didn't have a problem because I was on a low dosage.

I'm taking 20 of it daily. I haven't had any bad side effects. I know that it's really hard to get off of it though when/if you choose to do so.

I was wondering are you getting paid for this? How do I join? Yes, I take Lexapro and at first it made me feel sluggish and I had a sleeping disorder. I still have the sleeping disorder and loss of appeatite.
