Do you submit to directories?

How do you promote your blog? Do you submit it to search engines and blog directories? What about pinging? I am new to all this, but I just learned about pinging and have started doing it. Since March 9th, my blog has received over 70 hits. Is that good? I´m pretty happy with it!

Though pinging is a best method to promote your blog, it is not sufficient to get indexed by major search engines. You need "blogging and pinging". Apart, your blog must have sufficient quality inbound links to promote.

70hits is good but not enough. Gotta try harder. I submit my blog to several blog directories like blogtoplist, spicypage, blogranker, topblogging, blogexplosion, and there ways lot of blog directories out there. Most of my visitors does not come from blogdirectories I mention my blog each time i write in forum and leave a comment in other's blog and also do a link exchange. I promoted my blog http://www.agentmagenta.blogspot.com by writing a review of my blog at http://www.ratemyblog.co.uk 70 hits so far is pretty good for a new blog! If you keeping adding content you see the number of visitors grow steadily.

submitting your blog to directories helps get you new readers, and pinging your blog ensures your latest content is being viewed by search engines which will get you more hits. I use a site called pingomatic which is here www.pingomatic.com

I have submitted to some directories...mainly i promote my blog http://vsoftsolutions.blogspot.com through various forums and community
