I have recently started taking sewing classes and want to know what is a good sewing machine for a beginner.. There are a lot of reviews for cars, Bikes, Computers, mobile phones , laptops etc but hardly any for sewing machines.I would like to know of a reliable brand which a beginner can use?

I ahve been sewing for years & I would never trust anything other than a Singer or a Brother brand machine. If you are a beginning seamstress, try to find an older machine that doesn't have all the buttons & attachments. They will be a pain to you until you get the basics down. Once you build your skill & confidence, then upgrade to a fancy machine. You may try looking at either pawn shops or the salvation army/goodwill for a good used machine.

Thanks for your suggestion nelltx. Will look for something simple without too many buttons and attachments as you said
