Anyone up for CHINESE??

Riddle me this? Why do they call it Chinese food. Does it LOOK Chinese? Does it TASTE Chinese? Is it even remotely considered Chinese BY the Chinese....who by the way, would know better than anyone what was and was NOT Chinese? I think not. Has anyone here ever HAD chinese food? I see some hands raised. Good. Ever been on a plane and had some terribly sweet tasting, unidentifiable vegetable looking stuff? Well, THAT is Chinese. I've had the good fortune, or the Miss-Fortune of having Chinese. I can tell you that it doesn't look anything like what you get when you're accosted by those sweet looking girls in their white hats who smile so much it hurts. Let's take a look at this. I could compare what we like to term "Chinese food", to a backyard barbecue. Yes. Here we have the chicken in a nice glaze sauce, some pork, some steamed vegetable, and let's not forget about the rice, shall we? Cats and dogs aside, and I know you know what I'm alluding to here. Chinese...real Chinese can be found in Atlantic City, if you are so inclined. Gambling gets your hunger going, and your going to need something to wash that greedy taste out of your mouth, so why not, duck soup. Again...I am confused. Is that actually duck, or do they just say that so that you'll pay them for the exquisite pleasure of dining on their so-called traditional Chinese food. I don't know. I don't really care. Give me an egg roll and maybe a fortune cookie, and I'll be set to go. To your fortune, may you live long and eat out many time over!
