BEWARE: RATS photographed at a WAL-MART bakery display

my mother works in Wal-Mart deli.I'll ask her if she's seen any there or not.

That was just so disgusting!! I cannot believe that they even had others that have complained. I realize places have some problems sometimes, but not taking care of the problem is unacceptable.

You know, I've been avoiding Wal-Fart for several years because of something that happened to me in a store a long time ago. This is just another reason for me to avoid Wal-Fart.

Yikes, I will have to think a hundred times now before going to a Walmart Bakery....ewwwwwwwwwww! If there's one thing I detest mightily, its rats!

Unfortunately this is becoming more common. Just recently there was a video showing over a dozen rats running wild in a Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell in New York. It was pretty disgusting. Lloyd

I saw that on the Phoenix news the other day (we live in Arizona). My husband swore he saw a mouse not even a week before that broadcasted at our walmart. It's pretty gross, I must say. But I'm sure walmart is going to be keeping track of all their stuff now and making sure it doesn't happen again. And if not.. just buy pre-packaged stuff :P.

It was all over our news and it showed it. It was so grossed out. It freaked me, and I don't want to go back to Wal Mart now. This is a true thing that happened.

Wal mart is not the only place that ever has rodent problems, or bug problems, either. It sounds to me like the state inspectors are not doing their job well. In self defense, we have to have our eyes wideopen everywhere we shop.

That is so discusting. I can't believe what I saw. What was the rope thing hanging in the case, it looked like a shoe lace. I have heard of these type problems at bulk food stores but never at a Walmart.

Why would you shop at Wal-Mart, rats or no rats?

Well, luckily the Wal-mart I work for doesn't have bug and rodent issues. Ohio has very strict EPA rules and the state health department inspects stores (just not Wal-marts) all over the state. There was a Wendy's closed not too long ago because of bug issues, so they aren't afraid to do something about it. That is just crazy though that there were rats in plain view.

LOL the first reply was truely genious...lol, but after looking at the picture and this might be a common misconception of mine, wasnt that rat white and I thought all wild rats are brown? Couldnt it have been one that got loose from the pet dept? Either case since I dont like walmart lets just say dont shop there ... lol

I use to work in a Wal-Mart bakery. I am actually shocked that they found rats in a Wal-mart balery. Now had you said flys I could believe that.Wal-Mart uses an outside company to come in and inspect their stores to make sure that they employees are following the health guidelines.The problem with that is normally the first store will call ahead to the others to let them know they are on their way. I will tell you that I do NOT buy meats from the deli. They do not clean their slicers like they should.Most of the time the slicers aren't cleaned for hours. I still shop at Wal-mart I just don't but food from the fresh food areas because I have seen to much.
