One night a man -
who was in no shape to drive -
wisely left his car parked and walked home.
As he was walking unsteadily along the road, he was stopped by a mounted policeman.
"What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?" said the officer.
"I'm going to a lecture."
the man said.
"And just who is going to give a lecture at this hour?" the cop asked.
"My wife." said the man.

He may deserve it, but he wisely didn't drive. Back in the '70's when they changed the drinking age to 18, my roomie was at the blind school & many of her classmates were 18. She became the designated walker for them. One time one guy was so drunk he couldn't even walk so they found a shopping cart, poared him into it & rolled him home. Another time they were walking home & she came to a light pole. She took a few spins around it for fun & a cop stopped them. He just didn't believe she was sober because of the pole incedent but she never touchs booze.
