a relationship on the side? If so why? I'm hearing more and more women are keeping someone on the side (women who are NOT married or living with someone) because the relationship they're in isn't as fulfilling. Would you consider this and if so, why?

I wouldn't want a relationship ont eh side whether I was happy or not. I can't be with 2 people at the same time. Even if I am miserable in the relationship I am in, having one on the side would just make things worse. If I am not happy, I will just leave. If I am not sure about how I feel, I still just remain focused on one person. It is just how I am. I don't need another person around, 3 is a crowd. I am responsible for doing right by the person I told I would, and even if they didn't know, I would, and then I am not doing right to myself. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror knowing I was doing something I wouldn't want done to myself. It's just me. I do it for myself, more than the person I am with. I can't feel good doing something like that.

I never thought I could either, but it's really crowded (he lives with someone else, I've got someone else who's living with someone else) and I'm just sick of it! I'm miserable but not totally so...probably better we don't live together anyway...

for the past three relationships I had, I always had a backup plan..I always had someone else especially seeing as the people I was with had me convinced I wasn't their girlfriend anyway..

You were never asked to be exclusive with them either, huh? That's the part that burns me--my (whatever he is!) 'friend' expects me to be exclusive...didn't even bat a lash when I said I was at a party last week and of the three of us, I was voted to have the best boobs. Oh well, the perils of falling in love I guess...sigh...
