when my son and his girlfriend were 16, the were out on a very cold winter night. The was a street person freezing on the street. They took their last bit of money to buy the man a coffee. Instead of being appreciative the man throw it at them. He said he didn't want to fking coffee he wanted money for booze. How do you feel about beggars on the street and do you give them money when they ask?

No I do Not give money. I feel I had to earn mine they can do the same. I spend Very little to nothing on booze and I won't buy it for anyone else.

Only if they look really despart. Other wise I tell them to get a job. Most of these street people are to lazy to get jobs they just want others to support them.

It depends on the circumstances, as to whether I give them money or not. If I think they are going to buy booze with it, I don't give it to them. Also, here in Nicaragua, if you give to someone once, they can become a regular pest at begging from you or pass on the information to their friends that you are an easy target to beg from. So most of the time I don't give them money when they ask.

I grew up in a bad neighborhood in Chicago. There were a lot of raggedy looking old characters around that some people would call bums. My brother and I would take sandwiches out to them, and sometimes give them a hat or gloves to help keep them warm. A lot of the other people from the neighborhood would help them out too.

i can't help but to give. when i was having my vacation with my friends in Cape Town, at that time we were buying some king of hotdog along the streets, then came a couple of young, dirty looking kids, and they look like they haven't been eating for quite a while, so we bought them those hotdogs. they said 'thank you sir!' , and again, in Bali, the same similar occasion. and of course in in own country also, a lot of beggers, sometimes they sell tissue in packets for money... sometimes they were blind and play music down the street, i feel so lucky i'm not like them, the least i can do is give a bit...cheers
