How often do you bath your dogs?

I was bathing my toddler earlier when our miniature daschund wanted to jump into the tub too. I realized that the last bath he got was more than a week and he loves taking a bath. He is an inside dog so he is always clean but he enjoys staying in the tub. How often do you bath your dogs? Do they like it or try to run away?

I've got 2 dogs and they don't get bathed very often at all. It's probably 2 or 3 times a year tops. But before you feel appalled, my dogs are both pretty big (one's about 80 or so pounds, the other is a little small for her breed, one's a weimaraner, one's a german short-hair, but they're basically the same thing with different fur colors), and both dogs are outside dogs only, so it's not like they're stinking up our house or anything. When we do give them a bath, we take them inside and bathe them in a bathtub, and although they don't really care for it, it's better than spraying them off with a hose or something like that.

Dogs should not be bathed more than once a fortnight, it strips the natural oils out of their coat which they need for insulation. My dogs get a bath each fortnight and they absolutely love it.

I just bathe my dog every two weeks. They say when you bathe your dog too foten itl dry out his fur and will make it coarse just like when we shampoo our hair too often.:) My dog is a Lab the ever big water dog:) He follows me to the bathroom all the time. I think when he gets his first visit to the beach, it will eb soemthing for him:)

When i had my dog before, i was advice by my dods vet to just give her a bath once a week, so the hair wont fall that much, though he never gets dirty too as she stays inside our house.I give her a bath with a little bit warm water so she will like it but of course even human will run away bathing with cold water....

My dogs are outside so i don't bathe them very often - even when they were inside i didn't bath them a lot - Dogs have a chemical in their skin that looks after their skin & fur - if you bathe them too often you slowly remove this chemical & they can end up with skin problems & really scruffy hair. I think the last time my dogs had a bath was a couple months back & they're ok with it, they dont run to it but don't run away from it either!

My dear dog Bennie takes a bath once a week, this is based on his vet's recommendation. I brush his hair daily though. Brushing stimulates his natural oils, making his coat shinier than usual. It also promotes good blood circulation according to the doggie doctor. He's often anxious about it, he seems to be able to sense when I'm about to give him a bath, he runs around the house like crazy. so congratulations for having a water loving pet. love the animals!

WE adopted our greyhound about 7 months ago and we still haven't given him a bath. They have very little natural oils and short hair so they don't smell at all. Our vet said only to bathe him when you can smell him.
