I know you all are bored having responded this question a lot of times, but i would really like you all to reply again. According to me, there is a 50-50 chance for both.

The chicken came first. Well when God created Adam, God didn't created him in an embrio right? So I guess it is the same with chicken,....

Except some people actually believe in evolution. I still agree with you though, the chicken did come first.

God created all animals first but with the ability to recreate so the chicken came first and man came before woman was given the ability to recreate because he was here before she was. After that she was to be fruitful and multiply. Same as chickens. Have a blesse day.

Thanks for the reply. I think you are very much right in your saying that the chicken came first and then it laid eggs for its future generations.

Chickens are winged and belong to the bird species. God created the different kinds of birds and not the eggs still to be hatched and therefore the chicken came first. If you don't believe God and believe in evolution, then I don't think that the chicken or the egg also came from the ape.

This is what I believe happened ,but again it is debatable.Every species on earth comes from the modification of the previously (already) existing species by some genetic modifications. With that premise,I presume that the chicken was a embryonic modification.Amphibian-reptile-bird-mammal.Possibly the genesis of the chicken or another oviparous bird came about by some genetic changes in the reptiles and from thereon the bird hatched eggs. So,I'd say the chicken came before the egg.Debatable though.

Seems like you know your biology right. Very realistic answer and let me say, there is very optimizing chance of this to happen. Thanks for replying.

First came... the kitchen, to boil them all. in order to make a tree you need the seed, in order to make the seed you need the tree... the sense of a search is in the fact you know that you don't know something and no more than this (Socrates) the role of science is in the fact you are able to describe reproducibly a phoenomenon and nothing more than this (Galileo) A good philosoper makes good questions, a good scientist gives rigorous descriptions and models, a good lier gives believable answers. good bye

God took the egg of an ape woman, impregnated it with the seman of a higher creature, then placed the fertal egg in the womb of a female of the higher creature and man was born, and God was soon very sorry that he ever waisted his time with monkeies.
