I always thought i knew every thing about children. So i thought when i do have children i will know everything you can think of. I only thought that way because I have 14 nephews and nieces and some of them my mom raised so i grew up knowing how to feed, change and take care of a child. But when i had my first child I kind of paniced because I thought to myself oh my god i don't know how to do this or i've never seen this before. I just freaked and I ended calling my mom and sister-in-law for help and advice. now I really know everything. So how how many you have been through that same sitation?

My first child was born with a health issue that required surgery and she was 3 wks. old before she came home . she still only weighed 5lbs 12oz. I was TERRIFIED the first 6mo.! Iwas sure i would do something to cause permanante damage. After i finally relized that babies are more durable than i ever imagined i finally became just a little nervous and enjoyed learning from her.

when i had my first son i thought just like u did b/c i have two brothers that are 12 and 13 years younger than me. but i would call my mom with questions on stuff b/c i didn't know how to do something or b/c he would not quit crying. and i was still the same way with my second child just on different things. but for the most part i knew how to do most things.

I'm a single mom with a 2yr old daughter. Yes, it's very hard to become a first time mom. Because there are things that we dont know how to do with our baby. Specially, when the baby is crying early the morning, gosh, it's so terrible, i dont know what to do because she's crying that she wanted to say something, but i'm fortunate because my mother is always there to look us.

As a father of two child, both my wife and myself have experience the same way you did.we all have many nephews and nieces but still we encounter new different situations in dealings with our kids. Thanks God, we were able to handle all of them.
