Do you believe that English is the Universal Language? Once upon a time. The Japanese do not speak English, The Chinese do not speak English. Today English is an essential tool for communication. I had a Taiwan boss, he wants me to speak English. I do not know if he understand English.

I think it's essential to speak English if you want to communicate with people from all over the world. I only know a few people who do not speak some English. For example, when I go for holiday English is the most spoken language, because everybody knows a little bit. But I don't know the reason why English and not another language? I guess it's because English is not so hard to learn. I learned it about 15 years ago now and I'm practising it daily on sites like mylot.(and I hope adjurely everybody understands me :-)

Yes, english is the universal language and only second to it comes music!;) There are lots of non-english speaking countries who prefers to communicate on foreigners through english language, as it is a big advantage for them in many ways. If you're boss wants you to speak in english, then better be, because it doesn't matter if he knows how to speak it or not. Maybe he wants you to because he wants to learn the language, but didn't quite know how to say it..

English is the most recognised language in the world. Most countries have it for their second language if it's not the first. You need to know English if you travel.
