How did you meet your spouse?

My husband and I were Chemistry lab partners in college. ..... We love to tell people that there was chemistry from the start. ha, ha. We had mutual friends and interests around campus so we didn't start dating righ away. We went to the same parties, sports, intramural events, etc. until we finally just started riding together to everything. But that wasn't dating..... was it?? We knew we were attracted to each other and enjoyed spending most of our time in each others company, but to this day we still disagree on what was actually our first date. PS I dropped the lecture portion of the Chemisty class on the last day to drop a class, but finished out the semester never missing a lab class.

I was an interviewer and my spouse was a candidate for accounts assistant post. During interview I found that She is perfectly qualified to be my life partner. It was 12 years back. We are happily living with our daughter and a son.

me & my husband - here's a picture of us when we attended his friend's wedding
My husband have been friends with my older brother ever since they were in high school. His interest in me came as a surprise when I turned college, he hang-out in front of our house a lot especially on weekends even though he has his business to attend to, and he would wait outside his shop during weekdays waiting for me to come home from swim practice.

That's a really cute story...a good one to tell your kids one day. My husband and I met through a mutual friend. I was planning that year's spring break trip to San Diego, and we were trying to get as many people as we could to go so we could keep the hotel costs low. Plus, we needed an extra driver. Our mutual friend invited him to go on the trip with us because he could bring his own car. We practically spent the whole spring break semi-flirting with each other. It was kind of hard for anything to get started with 14 other people there. We started hanging out as friends, and calling each other all the time, and he quickly became my best friend. We became "official" on another trip to San Diego about 2 1/2 years later. We were going to a 2-day music festival called Street Scene. And again, we were both there as additions to keep the hotel costs low. He proposed in San Diego, and we got married in San Diego. Now, we when we tell the story, we pretty much always say, "There's something about San Diego..."

I met her back in 1998 after I had left the Marine Corps. We met at an Assembly of God Church. She was a singer on the worship team. We later married in 1999 and we had three children together. In the beginning the relationship was based on the word of God but as the marriage went on she pulled away and eventually left. So, I am now single again. I have been divorced for almost a year.

My husband and I met when we were 15 and 16 years old. I told my mom before we even started dating that I knew that was the guy I would marry someday. Somehow at the age of 16 I just had a feeling about it. Now that I am older, I look at 16 year olds and wonder how could they know something like that, but somehow I just did. Of course, my mother laughed at me b/c I guess it seemed only like "puppy love" but we are happily married now and have 3 wonderful children and we are now 30 and 31.

My wife of 15 years came to work as a temp at the lab I had been working at. She saw me and commented on a break to her co-workers that she thought I was, shall we say "desirable" though I'm sure it was put in slightly different terms. One of those people knew one of the people I supervise, who happened to be gay. So he comes waltzing in while I was looking into a microscope, and prattled in a sing-song voice "somebody thinks your cute". After a recent divorce and two GF's that had drained me, I wasn't ready for a relationship, but it turns out neither was she. We started out as friends and have stayed that way after 16 years.

It is really great to start out as friends. I am sure there is something to be said for love at first site but I can't imagine it for myself. I loved knowing my husband as a friend first. We had so much more on which to build our relationship. Thanks for the response.

We met while working at Wal-mart (so romantic, lol). He worked in produce and I worked behind the seafood counter (which were right next to each other). Most of us just hung out in the back hall goofing off until we had customers. I met him in April/May 99. In early June he stopped by my apartment really late at night and we stayed up talking all night. The next night he came back and proposed. Seriously. We didn't spend a single night apart for 10 months. We were married in January 2000, just 7 months after getting engaged. We've been married 7 years and have 4 kids. And yes we were both a little crazy, I'd say. Who gets engaged after 1 day? Me, that's who, lol.

My husband and I met on yahoo personals. I had met a few different men on there and been on a few dates. He contacted me to let me know he was interested in my profile blah blah blah and I read his profile. He was a grad student at the time and seemed very snobbish. I had gone on a date with a guy who had a PhD and he believed he was god on earth literally. I could not stand him. When I read my husbands profile I thought oh great another one of those that is just how his profile sounded. I always responded to anyone who sent anything to me to be nice. He saw me online and sent me an im. To be polite I responded and for the first 5 minutes we really didn't have anything to say after that I don't remember what was said but it was like we were finishing each others conversations. We chatted online for hours and I gave him my number he called me later that night. We talked 2 weeks later we met in person 3 months later we decided to never be apart and got married and now we have the whole package 2 kids 3 dogs 2 ferrets and are very happy.

I first met my husband when he was working in our local supermarket. I was only 15 and he would have been 26. He didn't really know I existed but I thought he was cute and would go in the all the time. Anyway about three years later I was 18 and had been away came back to town. He was still in there and I still thought he was very cute. I got a job at the same supermarket! A few days later I was catching up with some old school freinds and had been to the movies, when decided to go to the pub for a while. When I got there I spotted him across the other side of the room and thought what the hell. I went over and started talking to him. We chatted then we decided to go outside so we could actually hear ourselves think. We spoke to all hours of the morning and started seeing each other from that day. That was nine years ago and we have been married for six and have a four year old son. My husband always jokes that I stalked him, he just wishes! The date we met was Friday 13th so we actually got married on a Friday the 13th as well. Our son was nearlly born on a Friday the 13th but hung on till the next day!

Let your husband believe that you stalked..... good for the ego. Your son must have wanted to keep the 13th a special day just for the two of you.

I met my husband initially online over 8 years ago. Our actual first face to face meeting was in an airport in SC. I was lucky because we had really gotten to know each other and knew we wanted to be together forever. It took only about six months from the original face to face meeting before we were together for good.

I met my husband through a hobby i have enjoyed for several years....it was the VHF radio, the ones used by police officers. Since both of us are licensed amateur radio enthusiasts, we used this to make friends with others. There were no CP, internet during those days...LOL! Well, our signals got jammed while i was talking with a friend and i ended up hearing his audio. We had a talk, exchanged phone numbers, have met after a month or so of "modulating" with each other. Attraction and some similarities found its way. And the rest is history. After 4 years of boy-girl relationship, we tied the knot and now have 3 kids. I am very much happily married. BTW, tomorrow is our 8th anniversary...LOL

I met my husband in the organization I used to work in. He was in the packaging department while I was working in the IT section. We feel like we've known each other for a long time, we hang around together during breaks. We started off as friends. After a month we got steady and dated everyday after working hours and has been a couple for four years. We finally got married on February 2000.

I was a single mom and my daughter's bike tire went flat. I had no clue how to fix it and went knocking on doors. My next door neighbor happened to be home. He had decided to ditch work all day to play video games. I thought he was one of the gay guys next door because he lived with his brother. We married within six months....nine years later, he is perfect for me.
