Instead of frosting on cakes and cupcakes, try this.

Just for a change. If you bake a cake or cupcakes, forget the frosting. Buy a can of pie filling, heat it, and pour it over the cake or cup cakes, serve with ice cream on top. When heating the pie filling, let it evaporate a little, or add a tps. of flour when it is cold, so it will not be runny. Cherry tastes good with chocolate cake. Apple is good with yellow or white cake.

Yummy, a quick version of Black Forest Cake. How about a little drizzle of Kirsch? I'm all for the extra "kick"! You are just so handy to have around. My M&M cookbook just keeps growing. Why in heavens name don't you publish a cookbook? Everyone is looking for a quick and healthy alternative to McDonalds!

Thanks for best response. Maybe you could develop a digital cook book, illustrate it, and sell it to download. No shipping and handling. You certainly have the good recipes, and once you have created it, the work would be done. In order to make it very appealing and something that would attract a lot of attention, you could give a specific portion of the proceeds to an animal oriented charity, because that is one of your passions. People would be even more likely to buy. I know that when you give, you receive.

We can so we would use marmalade for atop those cupcakes for different flavor combinations. Your idea is pretty good too for changing up the dessert for a taste treat. The season is coming up for these kind of desserts especially when we have company. Thanks for sharing.

Marge are you Martha Stewards sister, Honely you come up with some of good creations when it come to food! Also tell them about pie filling, take it and after you make cake put filling on top and when it bakes it will fall down to bottom of pan like upside down pineapple but use any filling that you want. it is very good. you don't even half to put icing on the cake.

I often put cherry pie filling, with a little almond extract, between the layers of my chocolate cake, then more over the top, plus whipped topping. Love it. Peach would be good with butter pecan! It is too late at night, you are making me hungry!

Wow what a fantastic idea for a change for frosting the cake, that is a a wonderful idea thank you very much I shall have to give this a try I have never thought of doing the frosting like this before and it would probably taste a lot better than some of the frosting that we put on the cakes.
