So what's your favorite book in the public domain?

Books in the public domain have lost their copyright. They are free, and generally pretty old. The best thing is though, that they are free. I recently read Call of the Wild (okay, I listened to it on audio). Now I'm listening to Heidi. Yes, they're free. For free ebooks of books in the public domain, search for Project Gutenberg. For free audiobooks, try LibriVox. Next I'm thinking of reading A Little Princess. Maybe The Secret Garden after that. What would you recommend?

They have a lot of wonderful choices. I think that I will start with some of the poetry, but there are a lot of the others that I will get too. Thanks for letting us know about this.

You're very welcome. I really enjoyed these two sites. They have a great selection of free books, and our library is so bad that I haven't really read many books for free.
