Have you heard about Data card

Yesterday I have come to know about data card from my brother. It looks like pen drive and we can put it in the USB port and can access internet. No need of external moderm,cables or telephone connection. Just buy this data card and access internet from any where. Is anybody purchased this? Pls give more information about this new device.
