That is somthing that i would like to know. I have been off of my meds for a year now (they made me violently ill while pregnant). I'm constantly worrying and have these freak accidents deaths playing over and over in my mind (can't watch the final destination movies). I can't even ride in a car as a passenger without freaking out internally. I try not to let it show because my hubby gets extremely annoyed with me. Since i interalize my worry i don't seem to get as many panic attacks. I still get some but not as many as i used to. I know it's not good to keep your feelings inside. I'm so afraid i'm going to lose it one of these days. LOL! That will not be pretty!

Unnecessary thoughts will cause anxiety. These un necessary thoughts can easily be removed by practicing meditation. I do the same to ward anxiety.

I never took meds; I was too terrified to ever talk to a doctor about my problems. Just the thought of discussing my anxiety with a doctor makes my anxiety level skyrocket. I have dealt with it three ways. 1) I put myself in situations where I am MORE afraid to NOT do something than I am to do it. This forces me to do something I would like to do; but normally can't. Then, after I have successfully done it a few times, I no longer panic at the just the thought of it. 2) Deep Breathing Exercises - I learned this during Tai Chi classes as a relaxation technique. You can't panic if you are truly relaxed. 3) Self Hypnosis - I could never see an actual hypnotist; I'd panic. But, there are several low cost tapes/CDs for stress reduction and anxiety and they also help.

The first thing is to find out what is causing your anxiety. When I was working I found that my district manager was causing my anxiety. Once I left that job I found that I no longer needed medication. I also found that stress will bring on the anxiety attacks as well. Once you find that trigger you can alliminate the problem. Sometimes just know what is causeing the problem helps. It is hard to control anxiety but it can be done. I write on here to help keep my anxiety level down. My cousin likes to knit to help her stay calm. The object is to concentrate on something other than what is causeing your anxiety.
