If people will not ban smoking, drinking, or other harmful things, then no, gambling should not be banned. I realize that it is a bad thing and that many people are hurt by it, but that is the case with a lot of other things. I gamble, moderately. I have never lost more than I could afford and I would never do that. I know that everyone is not like me, but I think that it would be a shame to go either way on this issue based on a generalization of the entity itself. This is a big industry, and we can't forget that with any industry, there is boon and money to be brought in. Tourist, especially in places like Atlantic City and Las Vegas, depend on gambling. As long as people do it in moderation, then it's fine with me.

Absolutely right it is a disease only when you get addicted and do not know where to stop! And also consider the amount of jobs that are created in cities like vegas and Atlantic city it is humongous.

Gambling is not legal in our country, its banned! But I think it should not be so. Banning anything is not a solution. People, who are thought to be wise enough to elect the government of a country can how be considered to be foolish enough and to be kept away from gambling just because the government thinks its bad! I don't agree with it. Even when its forbidden, people find some or other way to get what they want. Involvement of various bookies in sports like cricket is a live example of that. It proves than banning can't do the thing! Instead, people should be made aware of the demerits of gambling and steps should be taken like allowing only adults to take part in gambling etc.

GAMBLING IS A FREE CHOICE,While it can be addicting,it is up to the person to control him or her self. It can be fun and it can be rewarding, but i do not think it should be illegal

I don't think it should be banned. Personally I don't buy scratch tickets or daily lotto tickets, and I've been to a casino once in my life; but if I wanted to do those things they should be available to me. I'm an adult and how I spend my time & money should be my business only. Not to mention that state lotteries generate a nice chunk of income for the states that have them.

I don't believe gambling shoud be banned ...It is not like everyone gets addicted to gambling..only a smart part of the population is and on top of that, they have all kinds of ressources to help them stop gambling. Gambling should be noting more than a game..but some people put it to the extreme..I think a lot of things could be banned before gambling..I feel sorry for the ones that are caught up in it..but they should take their responsabilitie and look for help if it happends to them..No one is puching the botton for them or twisting their arm into gambling...

hey folks! Hum, this si a good question. Maybe it should be banned! i don't know anyone who does it. but when you see places like las vegas and hear that people lost thousands at a time you think about it. but is there that many gambling places? i'm not to sure. maybe it should just be checked up on more. and not let that person spend soi much money or something.

i dont think there is anything wrong with it. people like it, and some people dont others get addicted or whatever and they can get help for it, its not like its a disease or something. its the not gambling its the gamblers that have the problem.

I don't think it should be banned. It is a fun thing to do. Some people go overboard, but as in anything else, you can become addicted to many things that aren't banned.

No gambling is a vice agreed but only for the few who can not control and play beyond their means. But for the larger part of people it is fun, a kind of entertainment, a game that eases out the stress of the day! You can sit and meet new people at the table and generally have fun. But I do not think gambling should be banned.... If that is the case even stock markets are equal to gambling you invest a lot of money Which incidentally is your savings and wait for great returns where as companies like worldcom go bust and many people are left holding nothing but debts.
