getting your feelings hurt on the internet

has this ever happened to you? i was on a forum i belong to and got pretty much reemed out for posting my opinion on a topic. what really gets me, is some of what was said really hurt my feelings. you wouldnt think that someone you have never met, never seen and honestly probably wont ever meet could hurt your feelings. has this happened to any of you?

"Hi Suzi", I hope your still not hurting? I can tell by this discussion you are a sensitive person. These words said to you are not coming from a true friend so please don't take them to personal! I've met people on mylot who can be the same , kind in one sentence, mean in the next. My opinions will conflict with others opinions so i guess i should expect some crap sometime. I can guarantee you will not hear mean things from Bud!

thanks Bud. ive always thought you were a super guy and are def one of the best people i have on my friend list. I am sensative. more so than i like to admit. and it just drives me up the wall, that im letting internet BS hurt my feelings so much. its like i cant get the stupid situation out of my head and its upsetting me over and over again.i do appreciate your kind words and appreciate how you have always been supportive of my posts. im sorry i havent been around much lately to support yours as well.

It is very easy for people sitting behind a computer screen to be as nasty and rude as they like, after all they are anonymous and you would probably never meet them face to face. I wonder if they would have the courage to be just as mean and nasty if they were sitting opposite you face to face, no they wouldn't.
I would try to forget it and ignore it hun, you are entitled to your opinion the same as everyone else, and those ignorant people who set out to be nasty are not worth worrying about

This use to happen to me all the time, on forums I would go to. The problem is people are to quick to judge and people assume things. They dont first ask questions and it they do, not in the right way. People have said some things that really have hurt me, to the point where I have even cryed about it and called my bf at work and such. I think he reason it hurts so much, is because your sharing personal things on the internet, for people to read and to give advice, and the last thing you expect is to get reamed out..I know how ya feel, sorry. Just try to remember, you have other people in your life who love you and care about you, and THERE opinions are the ones that matter.
