could "online relationships" last?

We've seen it: People from opposite corners of the world hooking up through the world wide web. Do you think these relationships could last? What does it take to love a person whom you've just shared a few emails or instant messages with? Is distance a factor?

I think maintaining relationships long distance is difficult. The physical presence of a person is different from having a person sitting on a computer many miles away and talking to you. I think meeting up and spending time together is important for a relationship to develop and actually mature. Otherwise I don't think it will last.

I agree. Nothing could replace the time you spend with your partner and the memories you'll both share in those moments.

if there is the guts to maintain the relation from both sides no relation can be easily broken...

Yes, a relationship is always a two-way street. It won't work if the other is not interested in maintaining it.
