I can't remember how old I was but I remember working one day and it was my birthday . My best friend was watching my children for me and we ended up getting off work early that day and when I got home her and my children had tidied the house and baked a cake and made some birthday cards and had invited friends over . She was trying to make a surprise birthday for me with the children . She didn't know everyone I hung out with at the time as we had not been friends long at this time as we had only known each other a few months. No one had ever did anything like this for me on my birthday before and the fact that she included the children in the preperatioins just made it that much more special for the children and this meant a lot to me , it was definitely my most memorable birthday as someone took the time to do all this for me and had taken the time to include my children ( who mean the world to me ) in everything that was done .

that's great for you. having celebrated your birthday all the time with friends and family. as for me, my family used to be so much in poverty before. so, not much money to spend in celebrations until i grew up. and up to now, i am not used to celebrating one with a huge bunch of people. i do have special dinner with my immediate family and some very few friends. and i am already happy and satisfied about it. the best birthday i could probably remember was last year when my dad's friend blew up a party for me which had been a surprise. it was still simple... just a cake, filipino noodles (which we call pancit), spaghetti, ice cream, roasted pig and some softdrinks. but it one great day for me. not that just. i also received my first gift from my parents... a nokia N73 which i really love.

A birthday party my brother planned when I turned 16. We fought like cats and dogs as we where a year apart. I was out horse back riding for the day with my friend. When I came in all my friends and his jumped out and said suprize. All I could say was boy I must stink like horse but thanks. How dumb. I never shower and got ready for something in all my life.

My wife and I are the same age. In fact, are birthdays are two days apart in March. In 2006 we turned 50 and my mother-in-law decided to throw us a party. She got my daughter to act like she was going to take us out to eat and when we arrived at the restaurant we were surprised by are family and a few close friends. What a surprise! So this was probably the one I will remember the most.

My 30th. I was not scared to have that birthday and I was feeling 'safe' (my then husband and I were separated and for once I wasn't stressed out on my birthday). Turns out it's the last one I truly celebrated because it was the last time that my family got together--my mom passed away 4 1/2 months later.
