What was your child first word

My son's first word was kkiii kkkiii. Meaning kitty kitty. When I yell for the cats I do the " here kitty kitty kitty" thing. He hasn't said dada or mama yet. He just makes the "m" sound.

my sons first word was mama at 3 months old.. of course he did not mean me when he said mama.. see we used to call his food "yum yums" and thats what he was trying to say...

my daughters first word was dad, she is daddy's little girl so that wasn't a suprise. He was really excited when he heard her say it. My son's first word was mum, and of course he's mommies little boy. Now that they are 3 and 4 yrs old sometimes I wonder why was I in such a hurry for them to talk to! LOL!! No really my daughter is a chatter box and my mom tells me I was that way when I was little also. I love that she is so curious and loves to talk to us. One day when she's a teenager I'll be praying that she would talk to me! Isn't it funny the cycle?
