Obscure References

I love it when TV shows through in obscure jokes that few people will notice! Here's an example. Today I'm watching the Simpsons rerun where Kelsey Grammer from Fraiser voices Sideshow Bob, and his TV brother (David Hyde Pierce) voices Sideshow Bob's brother, Cecil. Well at one point Bart attacks Cecil and Cecil says "Maris?". It's just real quick! But any Fraiser fan would catch it and laugh. Do you have any obscure references from your favorite tv shows?

I didn't see one in a tv show, but I saw one reference in a movie from a tv show. It was Cheaper by the Dozen, where Tom Welling (Steve Martin's 2nd child in the movie) was asked by his mom to carry something heavy (I think it was the chandelier that fell down). So with all his might, he tried to carry it. The scene looked like he (Tom) was Clark Kent in Smallville. But this time around, Clark can't extraordinarily carry stuff because he's in another show (or movie, for this matter).

I will have to look out for that scene if I ever watch that again, Steve Martin is great with references and jokes. He always pulls them off really well :)

I love when shows do that and my husband and I are the only ones that catch it. We'll give each other a look and everyone else be like "What?" I can't think of any right now but I know exactly what you are talking about!

I remember that episode and I got it immediately. The Simpsons are notorious for doing things like that.
