National Mom & Pop Business Owners' Day Tell us about a local business that you frequent. Has it spanned the generations? Has it been around for years and years? One local business that I have fond memories of is a supermarket chain that began with a small corner store in the early 1900's. My great uncle worked there. They grew to have more than 14 stores. My neighbor and his cousin owned the stores, but when they passed away their children took over. Sadly the stores were sold and closed last year. I hate to see old businesses go....
