How many "active" members in mylot?

In different discussions I saw people saying 75% to 90% of mylot members are not active and not actually using the site. People can tell from their referrals and from their friends list, do you think this is true? Do you see most people being active for a while then disappear and never post again? Can this be up to 90%? ..... 90% never login or login once a week or something? Let me know what you think .

Just go to the link "users by rating" which is provided at the bottom most part below your avatar below to the mylot population. The users are listed sequentially by their rating(Rating is number of points inside the braces next to your username). On every page 50 users are listed so the total pages should be population divided by 50 that is right now 83500/50 = 1670 pages should be there but you dont see anything beyond 497 pages. The page number 498 is blank that means only 25000 member users are there in mylot and I think the rest have been banned. Most of the users are with "0". So in my opinion some 15000 users are working in mylot precisely. I think only interested people should stay and make the site excellent at it's quality standard. Those users who have a earning attitude leave the site soon after joining. The 15000 active members too is not bad to enjoy. Wish you a great pleasure in mylot. All the best from oarnamav.

That's a great way to check it out, Thanks for clearing this up :) So members predictions are right, it's just a big number that doesn't reflect real active members but as you explained the site still has great number of active members :)

How many is mylot's population again, about 83,000+ members? As to my experience here, I think there's about 10 to 30% of us members get active here 24/7 -amount of time spend not included. There are also other member's here whom I prefer to call as, 'mushrooms'!;) Those who logs in here for maybe once a month or a week, then disappears again without even knowing when they would return. There are also some here who already left, but seems like mylot haven't decided to cancel their accounts yet. Not to forget the newbies, who taught that it's difficult to participate in this site.

yes, I'm interested in views of older members like you, as it seems you seen many people come and go, most people who talk about referrals here say that less than 10% of their referrals are active.. that should tell us something..

I don't have any much idea about referrals, because my two good referrals are not active anymore. But if ever I get alot of referrals, still I would participate more in this site. Because I don't like to depend on them for my earnings, it's better share also if I could share some thoughts that are in my mind!;) How I wish I could be a good referrer too!;)

May be it is possible for poeple having more than 5-10 active referrals to be unactive on mylot because they can easily earn 10-30 bucks fro thier referrals per month!!

yes this is one more reason but they are still getting paid, I mean is there's a big percentage of members who has given up on mylot or think it's not for them?

I thought i had also said something like that before, based on the assumptiosn that many of the members who got their referrals, but with an active referrals rate was around 10 %, I get 0% becuase nearly all of them never shown up sicne registration. As i know some of the old members who had not logged on for few months had already left mylot for other good paid forums, you can see many members profile with two or three thousands posts but last logged on was 3 months ago. In the recently weeks ,I had noticed that few old members had came back, may be they also known mylot had increased the earning and they came back here and had a look.

I am pretty sure that at least 75% of mylot members aren't actually active. I have 6 referrals, only two of whom have posted more than one response, and neither of which has posted anything in at least a week. I'm not really sure why they stop coming, I suppose the expect that they'll earn a ton of money in their first day, and then when they don't they just give up.... It's sort of sad though, mylot is a great place, they shouldn't just be in it for the money.

Sorry that I missed this discussion. It is very interesting. I would like to make a comment so that I will be able to find it again (I am new and getting a bit confused at the moment.) I have been trying to recruit so like to know that I should not be disappointed if my recruits do not join in much. Thank you. I have been using traffic exchanges and only recently seen any adverts for MyLot at all and decided to give it a go quite soon afterwards. It seems a great place with lots of nice people.

Where do people find this kind of information? Is there a banner on everyone's home page that gives the site traffic and statistics? This could be true, but how exactly do they know this for sure? I think that it's partially true, like at 75% or a little less.

Probably a lot of them ... but not sure of the percentage of course. We joined and activated our account ... then couldn't log in for ages ... send messages to mylot but still having problems. Then the person who referred us chased up mylot and finally we could log in here. Our lives are busy ... it shows that we have been members for 5 months but we could not sign in for the first couple of months ... then got busy and couldn't get here. So it might appear that we are inactive but we do post when we can ... but it might also be that sometimes we are so busy we just do not come here. The person who referred us is not spending much time here now ... they have found another site that they prefer ... but as a matter of routine they do come here every few weeks and do some posts. They are not making money from here though ... we aren't earning as much so they don't get much from our referral and they cannot be earning much because they don't post a lot. Probably you will find that there are only about 20% who are very active ... on a daily basis too. Another 40-50% who are irregular but still post and the rest don't come back after a while. That is easy to understand as well .... all these changes being made can make it hard for someone new or someone who doesn't post too often. We nearly didn't come back when we saw the change .... and how slow it made loading a page on mylot but thought we would give it a go. Consider that those who don't make a lot of posts ... or whatever their rating is ... actually seem to get more per post than those who have a high rating and spend a lot of time here. We know that for certain ... we trialled it one day when visiting my step-daughter. She has broadband and we are on dial-up .... at the same time we made the same number of posts and basically they were the same length ... same everything but she has a much higher rating than we do and got more for that day than we did. That puts people right off .... we have made less than 2 cents per post here and lots of other sites pay a lot more than that. So for people who are on another site which pays more .. even if they are limited in the number of posts they can make ... they will go there mostly and just come here for the odd few cents they can pick up.
