how old do you think is too old for a baby to be breastfeeding? and where are you from? my son is now almost 13 months old and here in the US it's common to stop by the one year mark, it's frowned upon by many to breastfeed beyond that point. i'm just wondering if it's the same all over. is it more acceptable to continue beyond this point in other countries...my baby is still a baby, he can't even walk alone yet but people think it's unacceptable that he still gets the breast. why is this topic even such an issue...give me your thoughts on breastfeeding.

This is such a touchy topic for some..and I do not understand why...honestly. This a personal choice so do not let anyone discourage you from continuing to nurse. it is best for your son and I personally dont see a problem with it. I am from Canada and I think that peoples expectation with age and nursing is pretty much the same. At 13 months, yes your child is still a baby. If you choose to continue to nurse him...I say go for it. It is in the best interest of the child..and like you said, he still is only little. Dont let people discourage you!

my son feed off my wife for over two years. When he was done, he just quite. My view is this is between you and your son. Dont worry about what the rest of world is doing. God for it

according to my religion women can feed the children upto two years but it is strictly prohibited after two,so thats what we do now do as you like but I have experienced that the child having mothers milk for two years is always stronger and healtheir than ythe one not having it.

I brest feed my youngest child and he stopped taking milk from me at about 12 months it was he decision he was so active he would rather have a beaker or bottel that sit with me which I was happy with i seemed to be producing less milk it was hard work for me to eat enough food to give milk you see not all mothers in humans and in cows or other mammles have milk that is perfect some mothers cant produce milk that has enough nutrition others just can't make enough it is different for everone . But I agree you should continue to feed to baby for as long as youand your baby wish you know when the time is to stop. it is just good to do it natures way .

I have no idea. I'm only 16. I will probley use the bottle, because I watch Nanny 911 and Super Nanny, and it seems hard to get babies off breat milk... I really have no advice, except, it dosen't matter what others think, it's your child, and your choice.
