Do you prefer to buy make up items by brand that don't test their make-up on animals or are you indifferent as to whether the make-up you use is cruelty free or not? Personally i try wherever possible to buy make-up items that aren't tested on animals becuase i don't believe animals should suffer purely so that i can look a bit prettier. There are certain brand si've even started to boycott becuase they're not cruelty free. I've even started buying the odd vegan items of make-up, although i'm not actually a vegan or even a vegetarian, though mainly it's a coincidence that many brand of make up not tested on animals also have no animal ingredients. What's your stance?

Well I am vegetarian, and I guess it goes hand-in-hand with that to be careful what perfume, and make-up products I use. I buy "Beauty Without Cruelty" items, and also "Body Shop" and other similar products. I don't see any reason why another living creature should have stinging shampoo dropped constantly into their poor little eyes or ahetever, just to provide me with eye make-up. It's cruel and obscene. Equally I refuse to wear leather shoes or clothes(I buy products from eco-friendlycomanies, and o ne can ever tell the difference!), and even my washing powder, washing-up liquid etc are bought from Health Shops where I am assured their ingredients are not animal tested in any way. Somepeople may think I'm cranky or obsessive - but quite frankly I don't care as long as my conscience is clear:-))

In truth, I don't wear too much make-up. But when I do I try to buy it from cruelty-free companies. I used to buy most of my make-up and bath and beauty products from The Body Shop. They awlays made really big claims about not testing on animals, and supporting free trade organizations...you know, just being socially responsible in general. However now that L'oreal has bought The Body Shop, I no longer consider them cruelty free since they are owned by a company who does test on animals. If only LUSH made cosmetics :-)

I feel the same way about TBS/L'Oreal. In fact i've started boycotting them now, though to be honest i hardly ever used their make-up items becuase i never found them good enough, cheap enough or exciting enough! I've switched over my hairspray to a Tesco one that's non-animal tested, and that was the only item other than about 2 items of make-up that i'll use up & not replace that i own by L'Oreal! I'm also not replacing any of my TBS stuff once it's been used up.

I only buy cruelty-free! There are so many quality make-up companies (MAC, Urban Decay) that produce exquisite make-up without sacrificing their ethics that I have no reason to ever support a company that tests on animals. I think it is utterly cruel and totally unnecessary.

I stand firm on not using cosmetics from companies that do animal testing. I find no necessity or reason to do animal testing within the cosmetics field, especially with all the information and science available to us today. I will also not buy from brands that claim not to test on animals but are owned by companies that still conduct animal testing. For example, since The Body Shop was bough by L'Oreal, I have stopped shopping there. I also will not by from Nars because its parent company, Shiseido still does animal testing. The same goes for Lancome. I pretty much limit myself to Urban Decay, MAC, Aveda and Stila.

I am a vegetarian, and have been since I was very young, but I have only been what some would call "hardcore" for a couple of years now. I used to work at Boots where I managed to hoard a lot of make-up for next to nothing, so I have a huge stash. Even though I have recently found out that some of the things in my stash are animal tested, I will use them up, and just not buy from that company again. As I replace things I use, I replace with cruelty-free. Slowly but surely my make-up collection is becoming... nicer :)

yes of course, i prefer to buy make-ups who dont have their products tested on animals. i love animals and i really am an animal advocate so as long as its a product who respects the rights of the animals, i would rea;;y support it. PETA should really be looking into those companies who still do some experiments and product testing on animals. animals have feelings too and they should be given their rights and freedom. animals cant speak for themselves so some people should be responsible for the animals' rights.

I almost always buy vegan/vegetarian products and definately only products not tested on animals. I'm a vegetarian and also big on animal rights.
