I'm not a big fan of bananas in my ice cream. My mom LOVES them in hers though!

LOL.... I prefer to talk about it and hopefully not give in. That way it's less calories! Although my taste buds aren't too thrilled!
I honestly think the whipped cream makes a sundae. No matter what you put on it, if you don't have that whipped cream on top it's just not a sundae!

Your perfect sundae sounds SOOOO wonderful!!! I am a choc-o-holic! I would have chocolate brownie (or cake) with chocolate ice cream, banana, strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and sprinkles! WOW!! That's a lot of calories and fat - but oh so yummy!!!! :)

My favorite sundae was from Howard Johnson's restaurant which I don't think exists anymore. They served their sundae in a large goblet like an oversized brandy snifter. Traditionally MY sundae has pistachio ice cream with hot fudge (really hot) and gobs of whipped cream, sprinkled with nuts, and topped off with a butter cookie. This was the sundae that has an emotional attachment for me as I can remember sharing it with a BOY when I was fourteen. I'm almost 47 and although we live three hundred and fifty miles apart, that "boy" and I are still friends. We communicate by email and phone on occassion.

I love the combination of vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce, whipped cream, and chopped walnuts. I also love chocolate ice cream with pieces of reese's peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream, and chopped walnuts. Oh....don't forget the cherry on top!

for me i dont miss the indian kulfi from the kulfiwala who comes weekly into the colony. Kulfi is a the famous Indian ice-cream . he brings them it in little earthenware or terracotta cones, with earthenware lids. The lids are sealed with a salty dough. The kulfi is then frozen in old fashioned ice-cream makers that use a mix of salt and ice, to lower the temperature enough to freeze the condensed milk that is kulfi. You can make it in any container, in your home freezer if you want to.
