I am shocked to listen deeply that he has taken retirement from cricket. who would be next leg spinner of Indian Cricket Team. Can his place be fulfilled in near future. do you think that it is right time to annouce his retirement after defeat in World Cup 2007. still he is young and he has the potential to prove his capability.

As an Englishman, I am wishing he'd retired from test cricket before this tour! He has been a magnificent spin bowler, and very competent no8 batsman. Whilst Harbhajan Singh has the ability to match him with ball, his batting will not be as capable. Anil has now got his first century, playing against England at the Oval, after a record 118 tests.
I believe India will continue to produce great spin bowlers (and has now produced some vrey decent pace bowlers, too), but I think it will be difficult to replace his batting ability as well.
Good luck to Anil, a great cricketer, and a lovely man.
